I was just wondering any super hardcore people won't.

I'll play with items for most of my matches with friends since their mainly for fun and items amke the game a hell of alot funner. I won't use items in most serious battles with my friends or people on wifi though.

I like the word "funner" too, as grammatically wrong as it may be :)

I'll definately play with items on at first to see what they do. I'll set them all to be Pokeballs too to see all the new Pokemon, etc. It is a game after all....

I think that even the people who play strictly by tournament rules will play with items on for a bit just to see what there is.

i think most people will play with items on for the first few matches, and then maybe just turn them off for a bit to test stuff out without distractions. the majority of mine will be played with them on, though. even though a few of them look like theyre going to be banned from tournies...

*checks dictionary* *sees 'funner' is a word* *wonders why people are wondering, since fun is one effing syllable*

Other than that... for VS matches, I won't bother, since I'll have enough items in the single player modes to last me a life IMHO.

i always play with items on unless i'm working on a particular technique. this way i know how to deal with them.

if items are removed in, say, a tourney, then so what, ya know? it's just like playing during all those moments when i don't have any items.

win/win.

well the fact is that competitive tournaments will most likely (as they do now) not have any items on at all (unless maybe to change into zero suit samus but even then that would make little sense since more smash balls would pop up). I definitely will play with items on when I get the game since I probably won't be playing it competitively with other people until people start discovering more advanced ways of playing.

Everyone will probably play with items on considering, they'll be in tournament play.

When we confirm that random exploding crates and spawning bombs are out, there will be no real reason to remove items.

No, and not just because Item Switch is probably gonna be an unlockable like the last two times. All the new items are interesting...items in general are interesting, really...and I wanna try everything out. I'm not gonna get into with advanced/competetive play immediately.

Yes. I'll turn them off to test the level of badassery Samus and Mario have. Then I'll play as Fox and have pity on the fool who was once my main, maybe take some OVER 9000!!!! Screenshots.

And after a load of badassery tests I'll turn on all of the items.

When I get Brawl, I'm going to put each item on individually to test what each one can do. Then I'll put them all on, have about 200 fights with CPUs, and have a hell of a lot of fun.

I'll most likely leave items on for a week or two, and just go crazy with other people. Then, once I feel like practicing Brawl for competitive play, items = off.

Defiantly! I didnt stop using items in Melee until I got used to all of them (I still have matches with items tho :D) So I'm going to do the same with Brawl. =]

The item switch wasn't unlockable in melee. It was just there.

I'll use item the first couple times or whenever I want to just have a fun match or when I'm not online.

Most likely most matches will have no items online so I keep that in mind.

you'll probaly be able to turn them off on wifi. If not I'd say they would always be on.

I'll do the same that I did with melee, I will play with items ON with my friends, and after a certain time I will start to battle without items to check how good I am.

On for a day or two and then periodically switch back and forth between on and off...and once I get the full roster Ill try out each character and how well they use certain items...then after that Ill just turn it off...unless exploding crates and stuff can be turned off...then I might play with items a bit more often...

So basically I'm the only one conducting badassery tests? Oh well, more badassery for me to handle.

I had been wondering about what characters would be assist trophies. A similar case for the Poke Ball. However, I don't agree with some of the things shown for those items (Goroh and Lyndis for one instance).

I'll defiantly keep items on,simply because it makes the game a whole lot funner. Even if I was really into 'normal' gameplay, I'd still keep Smashballs and Assist Trophies on just for the fan-service.

That's a tough question.

I'll probably leave them on just to see what items there are.

I started with items in Melee, but I gradually decreased their frequency. I didn't even know why I disliked them. I figure the same thing will happen with Brawl.

Golden Hammer selected only. Woot..
and yeah probably, i'll mess with them. Item battles become fun if you haven't played them in a while.

Truthfully IMO you can't consider yourself a hardcore gamer if you have items turned off. Items make matches more interesting, with items off it's all about who can be the most cheap I think people that play on certain levels and with no items only can't handle the unpredictability of the game. Sakurai made items to use not so you can turn them off

I think Ill try them each out to see all of them and what they do but that will probably be AFTER ive gone through SE a few times. At the moment though, from what Ive seen the only items that really interest me are the new and improved beam sword, the smart bomb, and of course *drumroll* the Smash Ball

Brawl's Items and esp w/ ATs are way better than Melee of course. When I first play, I'll have them all on. Any people I play will probably want the items on too for the fun of it. Eventually after I see all the ATs and try every item, and everyone knows how to play and their mains, then its no more items no more johns.

Who wouldn't use items at first? They'd be very ignorant not to even try and use items.

Of course when I get online I'm going to have a free laid-back attitude and actually try and have some fun. After I get bored of the item glory I'll then maybe work out some advance tech's and play competitively.

Don't feel like looking for it so I'll ask here. Whats the situation on random exploding boxing the Brawl demo? Are they still there or can they be turned off or w/e?

And yes of course I'll use items in my fights. Not the serious ones but it's still fun to mess around with them sometimes. I payed for the game so I'll try everything it offers, including items.
