Is anyone not going to play with items at all the first few times they play brawl?

Truthfully IMO you can't consider yourself a hardcore gamer if you have items turned off. Items make matches more interesting, with items off it's all about who can be the most cheap I think people that play on certain levels and with no items only can't handle the unpredictability of the game. Sakurai made items to use not so you can turn them off

It seems you don't know why items are usually turned off. Most people (well, most people around here, anyway) like to keep items off because they add randomness that makes wins and losses less legitimate. Most of us play with items once in a while just for fun, though.

We definitely don't turn them off because we can't handle them, but I'll admit my item-catching timing could use a little work.

Hiroshi did say that the item switch needs to be unlocked. That means that we'll be forced to play with items. I have no problem with that as the items look interesting this time around and once I get the item switch, I'll be able to.

when i get brawl, one of the first things i wanna try will be around items... seeing if i can trap giga bowser in the triforce

I am due to the fact that when ever I start with a game like this is that I play multiplayer against the computer, then go to the Singleplayer...

i always turn off items right away...i get enough of them thru trying to unlock characters

I like items they make the game more unpredictable and can give you an advantage so i\'ll be using them i\'ll just turn off the ones i dont like.
