I was reffering to critical reception as opposed to actual sales. The Conduit at least is a good game (NMH deserves lower scores than it has given the amount of problems it has, despite its strengths), but given the tendency of a good percentage of hardcore gamers to take reviews to heart, the Conduit did not live up to the hype, which is sad because the problems with it were related to level design and artistical look as opposed to an actually faulty engine/bad controls.

I mentioned them because the people with a adult level of intelligence who criticize the Wii's library, 3rd party wise, look at these hardcore games, which plenty of competition on the other two consoles, over the higher rated Wii games of less popular genres to judge it.

And yes, #4 was most definately reffering to RPG fans.
"flop" is a term for commercial failures. A game could have the worst reviews ever, but if it sales well, it's not a flop.

Are you saying NMH is a bad game? Alot of people liked it and it got decent reviews. For most, the flaws weren't crippling.

What can you do? A high rated game designed for a small niche is mostly going to be ignored. Though the only thing that comes to mind is Okami and Zack & Wiki.

I guess those games were, for the most part, not flops, just quite overhyped.

My original point was that those niche games, even if only a few thousand people buy them, they should still be factored into the Wii's library quality. Most of those who belittle the Wii's games don't even know about most of the games on the system (or in THC's and similar cases, doesn't think any system is exceptional this gen which is an entirely different matter altogether); I mentioned the hardcore games because mostly anybody on videogame forums would know about those games at least and they really are not the best examples of quality on the Wii, even though they are good in their own right.

Conduit was overhyped (whether or not it's a good or a bad game).

Zack&Wiki and NMH are overlooked gems and Okami is just a port.

Anth0ny speaks the truth. Also, I'm not surpised. The Wii's software architecture is BAD by today's standards. Here's a link to an old article:

http://hackmii.com/2009/02/why-the-wii-will-never-get-any-better/

This also explains why they can't do many game patches(TP needs one).

This sucks because using better software is cheaper than using better hardware.
It wouldn't have killed them to make the Wii's "hard drive" 5gb instead of 512mb.
