Inland Empire Smash Regional

Spokane, Washington: January 3, 2009

I and the rest of the Washington community are proud to present Inland Empire Smash Regional, the first and truely great tournament ever held in EaWa as well as the largest ever hosted in the state. Come visit our unique and fascinating side of the state where a magical 3 foot thick layer of snow envelops the land and you will experience some of the best West Coast Smash talent ever aligned at a regional tournament. Including the very best of SoCal, NorCal, and the rest of the West Coast Smash community.

The Details

Food, Directions, Housing, and Schedule

We will not be providing food, so bring your own. We will have maps to the local fast food restaurants on site.

If you need help with directions or you have questions, call Jamnt0ast (aka Ben) at 509-481-3013

Valdens has more than enough room to house anybody who needs it and I mean anybody. He's housing more OOS so if you want to contact him his AiB profile is here: http://allisbrawl.com/miniprofile/Come+To+IESmash+Regional.ai.

Doubles will START at 9:30 AM We will not postpone the times for ANYONE. Be there on time. The Venue opens at 8:30 for friendlies. This is only an one day event so we will be running through the brackets like crazy to get it all done so please no friendlies if we need the tournament going on schedule if we're running late.

Venue -
Name: Parish Hall St. Stephens Church
Address: 5720 S Perry St
Spokane, Washington, United States
Notes: The venue is huge! There are multiple tables to sit at, plenty of space to stand, and there will be a multitude of stations to play your matches at. HOWEVER, there are a few venue rules that must be followed. (see below) If you need help with directions or

Venue Rules
1. There will be NO Drugs or Alcohol of ANY KIND on the PROPERTY of the church.

2. No Smoking on the grounds. (there will be a place for smoking a few feet from the venue)

3. If you damage anything there you will be shot on sight (JK of course).

We will be taking a dinner break from 5:00 - 6:00. During that time, most of the stations will be turned off and all tournament progress will stop completely. At 6:15 the tournament will be up and running again.

The above statement is due to there being a Saturday night church service that we do not wish to disturb. Anyone who is making excess noise during this time will be asked to leave the venue.

Rules

Any map may be played as long as BOTH players agree to it.

3 stock.
8 minute time limit.
All items Off/None.

Matches best 2/3
Winners Finals, Losers Finals, Grand Finals are best 3/5

If time runs out during a match, Sudden Death will never be played. Use the following rules instead:

* If one player has more stock remaining than the other, the victor will be the player with the most stock.

* If the stock count is tied, then the player with the lowest damage percent wins the round.

* If Sudden Death is forced by one player using a "suicide" move (Kirby/Dedede Swallow, Ganondorf Flame Choke, Bowser Bomb, Wario Bite, etc.), then whoever initiated the suicide move wins the game.

* If both the percent and stock are tied at the end of a match, a one (1) stock, two (2) minute match will be played. This match must be played on the same level as the game prior and with the same characters. Whoever wins this 1-stock playoff wins the game.

Dave's Stupid Rule IS IN EFFECT (You may NOT pick a stage that you have already won on for your counter-pick)

Advanced Slob Picks are applied.

Infinites arent banned, however, if you use them to stall you will receive a warning on first offense and a loss for your match if you continue to stall.

Pretty much ordinary rules that no one will hate :).

CREWS

5 VS 5
15 stocks total
3 stocks per person

Stage List
Battlefield
Smashville
Yoshi's Island
Final Destination

Players 1 from each team both choose a character and start with 3 stocks.
Winner of the game proceeds to player 2 of the team that lost round 1. He starts with the amount of stock he had left at the end of match 1 (disregarding percentage).
The match continues in that manner until ALL of one of the teams stocks has been depleted. The team with remaining stocks at the end is the winner.

Special thanks to the Inland Empire Smash crew which put this tournament together and are running it :).

You posted a thread for a tourney 6 days before it happens. It doesn't take high or even average intelligence to figure it out.

The thread on All is Brawl has been there for 4-5 months. When I say "why more people aren't coming to this" it's because NorCal, Reno, and a lot of SoCal are being dumb and flaking out/johning for stupid, unknown reasons. I posted this on Smashboards because I felt obligated to spread the word around as much as I possibly could *shrug*.

Please don't post in this thread if you're not coming. Thanks :).

I don't see why you'd trust AIB noobs to begin with. Online focused players are not the most reliable. Always advertise on both smashboards and AIB.
