IMPULSE 2012 SSB64 tournament results - Toronto

An ssb64 tourney was held in Toronto on June 30, 2012.

1. YBOMBB
2. Nintendude
3. B Link
...-16: ??? (M2K, vowels etc.)

YBOMBB lost winners finals and then came back and won two sets in a row to win the grand finals:
WF: 3-0 Nintendude
GF(1): 3-0 YBOMBB
GF(2): 3-2 YBOMBB

- Matchups were YBOMBB (Jiggly/Pika) vs Nintendude (Mario/Pikachu/Falcon) alternating between Hyrule and Dreamland
- Last match was YBOMBB (Jigglypuff) vs Nintendude (Pikachu) on Hyrule
- Nintendude says he was rusty (and did look kind of rusty tbh) -- was 5 stocked in a pika vs jiggs once

i can attest to nintentude's rustiness. played him a week ago online and was beating him consistently, compared to at apex where i couldn't even come close to him. nintendude when you come down to dc we gotta shake that rust off.

congrats to YBOMB tho, comebacks from losers bracket is tough

m2k, the TO (I don't know his name) told me that you forfeited to focus on the Melee / Brawl doubles brackets. I'm also pretty sure you didn't play YBOMBB since he was on the other side of the bracket. I was originally supposed to play you round 3 but instead got a free trip to winners finals. Had I known you didn't actually forfeit I would have liked to play you =/

Nope you played me. You shouldn't have been allowed to play anyway because each of our matches exceeded 20 minutes because of your campy kirby on hyrule. I decided to approach and you won by 1 stock at a high percent, ggs I guess.

I approached and he ran every single time to the other side of hyrule and b-aired in a safe spot.

Obviously if I approached unsafely it could've taken 5 minutes instead but I would have been 5 stocked.

the person I played used pikachu and jigglypuff, and that's who fought you in finals

oh that was someone else? So wait, you both used jigglypuff and pikachu?

yeah i play gay in ssb64, but you can't say anything bc you played just as gay. puff and kirby both can't approach well, only pikachu can of those 3, that's why singles is lame in that game (actually all 3 smash games are kind of like this but 64 the most)

Why did you even join if you're just gonna camp the whole time? I fail to see the point in joining a tourney of a game you don't consistently play if you're not gonna have fun at all.

If someone never approaches me, I think that's lame as hell. I could care less what anyone else thinks because it's my opinion. Takes all the fun out of the game for me.
