@Meta Knight discussion: He shouldn't be banned just for being the best character. Marth, Fox, Sheik, and Falco negated over half of the Melee cast and won every tournament, but none of them ever got banned.

Maybe if we force M2k to play a different character....like Lucario....that way metaknights metagame won't develop anymore and another character's metagame will lol.

Wow, I looked like an idiot there. Yes, I did mean to type Lucario. I was thinking of typing "Lucario and MK", and got lost in my thoughts. Yeah, he plays both though.
And no, M2K isn't the only one who develops character metagames...he does lots of statistical tests, but they don't have all that much to do with the metagame...

I learned more about Meta Knight's match-up stuff from teh_spamerer than from M2K, but I did learn a lot from M2K. I learned the most from just playing on my own, though.

Is this true to the extent that MK deserves a ban? It seems too borderline for a lot of people, hence why he isnt receiving the ban (yet).
First of all, it probably will develop, especially with other MK specialists (not necessarily pros). And second of all, it might not need to develope too much more to keep him as high as he is forever.

To add on to what I said, I think Indianunit is confusing statistical information with actual metagame progression...*coughedited* People like NEO, Azen, Chu and Futile have definitely pioneered their characters' metagames (Marth, Lucario, Kirby, Wario, respectively) without doing as much, if any, statistical research, as M2K has. *shrug*

Meta Knight isn't the only character doing very well. Snake, Wario, Lucario, Donkey Kong, Dedede, Diddy Kong, and Falco took top placings recently.

*shrug* I dunno, I see most MKs try doing what he does, but playing far less smart. That could be because he established it as the way to play, though. You know, come to think of it, for example, things like dair were barely used before M2K started playing MK, and now it's everyone's favorite gimp. Yeah, disregard my post.

I dont know enough about M2K to argue whether or not he has developed the MK metagame the most, but I just agreed with that he isnt the only enhancer of characters metagames overall (this is just if you were also targeting me with first comment).
On your second comment, those are the exceptions that I'm talking about. Just consider only the big tourneys should be relivant to discussions about the higher competitive realm. Then all of the listed exceptions to MK are legitimate.

she said she wants me to have more experience first before i start driving to farther places like that. but i agreed that my car needs a tune up and needs to be fixed; she doesn't trust it lol. my parents don't think it can pass inspection... hey i'm not the one paying for it <i think> so i can't complain so much. i still wish i could drive there though.
