Makes sense, but I also think that only his whole left arm was armored to emphasize his use of Ragnell with one hand and to allow better movement of his right arm (his sword arm). It's also to emphasize his Hero class in which his left arm (armored) could serve as a shield, referencing the Hero class in general which is normally depicted as a sword-and-shield class.

The yellow costume looks slightly closer to Greil than it did in Brawl, and I guess the second to last one is the one people have been comparing to the Black Knight. I think the last one might be a reference to Chrom, but I'm not sure.

I though I tried to recreate the previous color palettes on the new design and see what they could look like. Here is what I ended up with. The last costume I changed it to a costume that resembles Ike's Lord attire in Path of Radiance.

This picture might become obsolete if Ike is playable on the demo, but if he is not then its something nice to look at until the game comes out.

The second is definitely Greil. It looks just like him this time, which is amazing. That will probably be my primary costume. Second to last is all the correct colors for the Black Knight, but it doesn't really look that much like him without all the armor imo. Chrom seems like a bit of a stretch, but it might be based on him.

But I agree on the blue being Sigurd. I thought the same thing. I really was hoping for Lord or Vanguard colors/costumes, so I'm a tiny bit bummed, but the Sigurd colors are a nice touch.

Yeah the blue ended up pretty similar. I actually expected the yellow one to be the most similar, but it seems that wasnt the case lol.

Still I love these color swaps the team at Namco did. I will probably end up using the Guts Black Knight color swap .

Yep. The inside of their cape are even similar colour

Are we counting the default too or not 'cause if we are, then I don't remember Priam wearing brown. If not, then it kind of doesn't.

Priam has a ragged red cape-thing that's usually red like in the game, but in art, it sort of has a black or dark red inside.

Anyway, I like the brown palette swap, it gives off that rugged mercenary feel that Ike's already got.

Which is the opposite of the Black Knight's red inside and black outside cape. Also, the armor looks more black than indigo or whatever blue shade Priam's got along with the lack of the white or silver armor pieces.

The Black Knight's cape varies by game. In Path or Radiance his cape is red on both sides, but in Radiant Dawn it's black on the outside and red on the inside. I'm curious which Ike will have in costume #5. I'm guessing red on both sides, but I suppose black would make sense to make his model more distinct from his red colors, in case multiple Ikes are in the same match.

HAHAHAHAHA! "You thought that Chrom would replace Ike? Take this!" I'm sure Sakurai thought about that when making the last costume. Greil and Sigurd alts look cool. I still believe N 7 is based in the Black Knight.

Not necessarily Greil himself, but the undershirt, the color of the shoulder guard, and the cape should be easy to make.

I think the colours are shoutout to the countries military outfits residing in Tellius, The Red is Begnion (Zelgius), the Black is Daein (Black Knight), the Green is Crimea (Geoffrey), the Yellow armoured one is for Ashera army ....Orange is Greil, Blue is Sigurd and Finally white is Chrom

or...

Red for Enemy unit, Blue for Player units, Yellow for neutra units, Black for units that finished their turn, Green for allied units, and the other 3 colours are references to other characters....
