Well, I have a modded Wii and I'm downloading it now, but ShortFuse brings up some really good points, so it is probably fake.

EDIT: With a modchip a Wii can play games from standard DVD's. As for where to get one, it shouldn't be too hard to find on google.

Let's hope that whoever is downloading it knows their stuff when it comes to mucking about with files of this sort. I mean, it would be annoying if we had to wait for deconfirmation of authenticity simply because getting the files examined and tested for legitimacy is hindered by the usual problems one has when dealing with DLs.

Download the .rar file and partially extract it and you should get an ISO file
in that file, the first 100 bytes should you the Wii game code, the manufacturer, and the game title. if that's not in it, it's fake.

i did the same thing, check it with a hex editor, its fake.

I knew by the NFO file. It was pretty obvious. I dugg up more proof for the nonbelievers. I suggest this thread get (re)locked. When a real playable version comes out to be downloaded, I'll be one of the first one bragging about it. Plus, on a 30mbit connection, I can verify it rather quickly.

well, i do agree that the .nfo is quite fishy (its the first time i've seen vortex post up something in 48mb chunks...and doesn't even match the filename!)
and the last partial file claims the iso was last modified in May 2007

but how did you get the first few bytes of the iso file? The rar file isn't even avaliable to everyone yet (in terms of torrent fragments)

Right click on the RAR file (if you're using WINRAR), Extract to... and check "Keep broken files"
extract upto 1% and cancel. The ISO will be there to see in a hex editor. everything past where WinRAR extracted will be 00s. You only need the first kilobyte to see the header.
