It is new internet legislation regarding copyright. Who is developing it? The government and the entertainment industry behind closed doors. The document has been declared a "state secret" by the Obama administration and the only reason anyone even figured out about it was because of Wiki Leaks.
If you use YouTube, where you're sure to have seen "this video has been pulled because of copyright infringement", where there was none... this is essentially the same broken system that they want to instill, but on a larger scale.
Do you want your connection to be completely cut off because someone hacked your wifi and downloaded a movie? They wouldn't care who did it - you're guilty, you get cut off.
Do you enjoy public wifi? So far, it won't be feasible to allow anymore if this legislation goes through.
Do you want to pay more for your connection? ISPs might have to come up with a better review process and maybe even some invasive logging which will invade your privacy and cost you more money.
Have you ever broken copyright law anywhere? If you have, even innocently because copyright is tough, how many strikes do you think you have? How about a family member? I get a lot of innocently infringed reports of copyright all the time for example, but if someone wished, they could get you thrown off the internet and add those to your strike count.
The latest information about it so far is here.
The first thing we have to do is get the proceedings open to public... there is no reason for this document to be declared a state secret. Voices don't matter if they don't care to open it up to even listen in the first place. Visit the link below and write, and post here if you did.
