Oh, I know that. It was a rhetorical question, since quite a lot of complainers here will say things like: "Now we'll never play with FSes competitively." But really, this is no different than items, provided we have the option. Don't want it? Turn it off and forget about it.

And y'know, even if you were to play a match with that on for whatever reason, not every FS is something you can simply activate the very second you respawn. Link's and Ike's, for instance. If you're playing a Peach and you're afraid of something like that, just make sure you're in the air when it's launched, and try your best to smack around Peach while you're falling. And if they decide to save their FS for a later time? Well, once their invincibility wears off you've got a chance to steal their Smash Ball and render all the Pity its appearance ever had meaningless.

Not that I'm saying the Pity FS is a good idea--it's not, and it's certainly unhealthy for a competitive environment. But there are ways around it if we can't turn it off (yes, I know, we can always turn Smash Balls off but you get what I'm saying).

The pitiful Final smash that noobs get when they are too far behind. (I like it!) Now my little bro. will have a reason to kill himself during a match rather than doing it because I'm kicking his butt.

players like that should not be rewarded... also people like that ruin my fav samus... Oh and jsut in case you didn't look at the end, he got -8! WOW! thats horrible, even for your first time... Not to be a jerk but he shouldnt get rewarded, this should be something in handicap mode...
So he died 8 times? I don't remember that...

But anyway, perhaps that means, in stock matches, if the stock is low enough (3? 4? :) ) it'll never trigger. Or, perhaps it only triggers when your opponent has a massive lead on you; if that's the case then in matches where the two players lose one life after the other (which is pretty common), it'll never trigger.

Stay optimistic, people. ^_^

I don't get what your saying, I think your saying "just turn off the pity final smash". The thing is, we don't know if that's an option yet.
Geez...I cant make a joke without someone analayzing it....Let me clear it up this was a joke, I know we dont have any knowledge about turning offf the PFS I prefer not to worry about it

I just want Sakurai to know that because of this the best players in the world won't play with FS's.
well if you're so unstoppable then shouldn't you still be able to comeback even if a sucky player gets a pity final smash? and are you really so boring that you don't like the fact that a final smash makes the game more interesting and unpredictable? who cares if you lose because of a final smash or something labeled as "cheap" or "unfair". sakurai obviously wants to decrease the distance between players who just like to be unbeatable and the rest. ( less advanced techs [wavedash removal], FS, more crazy and hazardous stages)

If you're competing in a tournament with a 500 dollar first place prize, you'll care if you lose by something ''cheap".

Players still have scores in stock matches, they just don't matter in the end, and they probly be the same for this pitty smash

Cool I cant wait to suck! XD

I wonder if you can knock out a pity smash ball from an opponent....
Of course you can.

Well, we don't know if this thing is triggered by score.

Maybe, for example, if you die 4 times in a row and don't get a single kill, it triggers. That has nothing to do with score.
