Hmm, I'm not interested in playing the Ice Climbers, but I really want to know more stuff about them cause I like to watch them in action.

I would like you guys to tell me about specific tricks that the IC's can use to land a grab... preferably a grab that could lead to a chain grab. Stuff like nanapult blizzard to grab, maybe?

This will probably be useful for the up and coming ICs out there. It might also be useful for me if I face out an IC player, since it'll help recognize some patterns before it's too late haha.

Well, I'm waiting for some material here... go ahead

By far the most common tactic you'll see is the Jab -> JC grab. Don't ever sit in your shield if you get jabbed; be ready to roll or jump away.

a shffled Nair can often lead to a grab as well

on fast fallers you can dash attack and grab...or uptilt to grab...or ice block chase to grab

the possiblities are endless

The Ice Climbers have by far the best grab in the game, my friends say Mario has, but they are way off.

Retreating roll to de-sync'ed blizzard is the newbie slayer.

Wave-shielding is a good way to bait an attack, or if they anticipate a d-smash they might shield, letting you grab. It's a nice safe approach, especially since people are paranoid about grabbing ICs.

I like to tech chase by wavelanding on a platform, following the tech and grabbing again. You can do a brief chaingrab of sorts on floaties like this. What's nice is that if Nana comes with you, you can KO them earlier using up-smash by increasing your elevation. Charge up-smash, d-throw, release.

lol that's sum nice ones... I would've probably been caught by the ''newbie slayer'' cause I would've tried to punish the roll.

IC actually have one of the worst grabs in the game, it's horrible. Their grab has short range and a load of lag on it if you miss. As far as best grab in the game, that probably goes to Marth. IC do have the best grab combos though, which is ironic when you consider how bad their grab is. If only we had Marth's grabs with our grab combo. One can dream...

As far as tricky things that lead to grabs: Most of the tricky methods are going to incorporate blizzard some how. Roll desynch, Up-B out of shield, and Nanapult are probably the ones that you'll see most often to surprise their opponents.

The roll is punishable yes, but it has good distance and a fairly safe de-sync'ed follow-up afterwards. Almost everything in this game has lag to be punished. Most people just won't expect any kind of strong action, defensive or otherwise, out of a roll and might try to run you down afterwards. Many newbies will just fall for it, get tangled up and grabbed. I've won more than a fair share of matches rolling into blizzard, infiniting out of the resulting grab, and repeating. It's a good way to coast through earlier matches against less skilled players and conserving your energy for later, harder games.

If you're playing against someone that just LOVES to charge at you, just spot dodge into a blizzard, then grab.

My most used tactic would probably be a mindsgamey waveshield grab thing, or just block chasing. I do more complicated stuff when I'm at tournaments and stuff, but when I'm just playin' for playin', I go for simple stuff.

jab. then jab again. and when ure done jabbing, then jab some more. jab to grab, dair to jab, wavejab, fair to jab, jabby jabby everywhere. jab = grab = win. jab = win. this is called the transitive property (yes tbs).

Blizzard close enough to my opponent so they'll get stuck in the ice block....when they come out and try to attack...shield-grab.....chain grab. If the second grab misses, dash dance...grab.
