Blizzard is annoying as hell. I'm really comfortable with the Marth v IC matchup except for this one move. The ICs I play loves to camp and up b desync cancel into a blizzard. (I have no idea if this is actually what he's doing -- I don't play ICs -- but that's what it looks like.) It comes out of nowhere and it has ridiculous priority and you just can't get hit by it or you get grabbed. Even if you don't get grabbed, you're just stuck and pushed back.

Worst of all, it seems nothing outranges it -- try to challenge it and you just get stuck in it and lose. So what do you do? Wait until it's over and ftilt / dtilt?

Oh, the Nanapult thing? It's probably just the spotdodge desynch.

I'd watch for all the things that people do to desynch. Common ones are spotdodge and dash dance. There's a thread on the ICs boards about the different kinds.

Desynchs generally take a few moments to set up, so if you know what to look for, you should be able to avoid them.

As for actually dealing with it, I'd either wait it out or Counter it.

Marth can easily seperate the ICs. If you have an opening try SHFFL'n a N-Air or an F-Air.

I've never really had problems with them but as long as you can be in control of the match and keep the two separated it shouldn't be difficult.

Indeed, separating them is key. Oh and wavedashing out of your shield is a perfect retreating tool against that kind of move too.
False.

Blizzard has too many hits, if you wavedash out of shield from it, you will get hit. If you try to shield it, you will get grabbed because Popo isn't doing anything. The best thing to do is control the space via platforms and avoid them until they do something laggy. If it's FD, you've got a lot more to worry about.

Using Counter also doesn't work because of the number of hits involved iirc.

So basically you can't do **** and have to wait until it's over.

Gaaaaaay I hate ICs

@ Tuar it will be on FD since I ban Corneria and he will CP FD and I'll go Marth =/

blizz eats needles i think

p, just do nothing and watch what popo does. the reason ic's even USE blizzard is to stop approaches. it's a defensive move, and sometimes against a really good defensive move, you shouldn't do anything

spam them from afar for those who main range users up close you should just keep your distance and strike when the blizzard ends or get above it and get a timely hit to cancel it

marth vs ic's is a lot about camping with nair, dtilt, jab, ftilt, and fair. theres actually not a lot of approaching

marth tries to nullify ic's approach.... he can do it much better than ic's nullifying marth's approach

a good random sweetspotted fair on nana can cause a 0-death fair combo on her

ic's have to try to penetrate marth's sword with fsmash, jab or grab in order to get something useful on him

from there it's a matter of edge guarding him which is pretty easy

in this matchup, marth has a much more solid game but ic's has a much higher reward when doing something right

u never mention how to get around blizzard. if they are desynced and there is only one blizzard out there u should be able to cross up somehow, or even roll around it haha

basically he said don't

i can do that. i always feel like it's my right to punish my opponent when i know something is coming and i avoid it, though. i guess blizzard is just an exception.

while i don't have a problem with sheik v ics on FD, i go with the easier matchup, and my marth is almost as good as my sheik / better than my sheik in certain matchups.

blizzard is beast againt marth..just camp plat forms if he spams it and u will **** him..and u can always fair camp to neautral like m2k does to me..just play defensive more and u will **** them because the key to fight marth with icy's is to get inside him and take the few openings we have so if u close off those openings the blizzard would be now prob
