You don't honestly find these drawings skillful in anyway, do you? It's like these people bought a Learn To Draw Manga book, throw in some photoshop, and BAM! Good.

No. It doesn't work that way. There's horrendous deformations of the Eds (The all look like monkeys) and the Charlie Brown characters are a disgrace to the original artist. Their faces are horribly skewed and they obviously never took a class on observing the human figure.

It's aesthetically pleasing to me
and gives me something to think about
since I take my past experiences with characters drawn in similar ways and try to put these new characters into settings I've come to expect from similarly drawn characters

It's funny because my style is heavily influenced by anime. It's just I didn't start out that way, nor did I read out of a book to learn it. After years of drawing my interests just show through my art style. And I taught myself how to draw. I got no help. There's still things I'd love to do. I'm enticed to go by a medical book on the anatomy to help further my understanding. I may go get a book of professional photographs made of scenery just to help me draw a better landscape. Who knows.
