I want to do something nice for my friend.

Last Thursday, my friend stayed in class about an hour later than he had to to help me troubleshoot my circuit design. I thought that was a really nice gesture and I want to return the favor. Problem is, I don't exactly know what to do. We both live on college campus; he's rich and I'm strapped for cash, so buying him something is not very effective. I don't think he has any errands that need running, and he's more than capable of handling himself acaemically. How do I let him know that I appreciate his thoughtfulness?

Teach him to be an epic smasher. I'll let you know when I come up with something else lolz. But when I was in college I had a guy fix my computer and we ended up being great gaming buddies.

Friend's don't need you to show them you appreciate the things they do, it's understood. And anyways, a time will come when he needs your help

This. Don't worry about trying to find a way to pay him back for the favor. An opportunity will present itself eventually.

He's better than me at smash already, though he doesn't lurk here.

Haha, Tom must've said something to get it edited...

Anyway just a simple "thank you!" will suffice too if nothing esle seems to come up!

Dude, just buy him lunch. Any college student is thankful for free food, rich or poor.

Remove both his kidneys. How to do that? Offer him a prostitute, she removes them.

Afterwards, give him 1 of your kidneys during an operation.

And if your blood types dont match, tell him its the thought that counts.
