I need help fighting Diddy

I am having alot of problems with Diddy. I win about 50% of my matches with a guy at my school. I just trip on his bannanas way to much and he is very good at the glide toss. Any sujestions?

Use the bananas against him. Learning to play diddy could help a bit too. Not much else I can say

Keep him in the air as much as you can. It's harder for him to place his bananas when he's being hit around. I don't know what to do if he gets you in some crazy banana combo, but latching Pikmin on him usually makes them stop and get them off. I haven't played any crazy good Diddys, but Diddy is one of my secondaries, and I don't have to much trouble with Olimars (I haven't played any tourny level Olimars though :X)

well, like to pick lylat, then do lots of nairs when he pulls out the nanerz to gain control but if he gets control on any semi long stage i like doing lots of fairs and moving nairs while nor being very grounded works wonders

Diddys a freakin beast for olimar, at least in my opinion. Makes it harder that there are so few around to practice vs too, at least for me.

Best strat i've seen overall is to just pick up and control the bananas. As long as he doesn't get momentum with those you're ok. Just don't get overwhelmed and you should be fine. Easier said than done sometimes vs good diddys.

Maybe try actually not camping at all. Like, focus more on avoiding the banana problem than getting a couple pikmin tosses in.

Also, if he uses 1 banana, grab it, and don't throw it. Just spam **** at him then. If 2 or he pulls another after that, throw 1 of them someone and camp that spot and prevent him from getting there while holding the other.

well if u can time it right, whe he starts his bananas, u can dash back to the first banana and block the other with a pickmin and then throw a bit more to get him, also like others said jump alot. grabbing can be dangerous when u have a banana near you

Olimar is one of diddy's hardest matchup because he's so hard to approach. Diddy can be practically shut down with a grab on every one of his approaches. So here's how you beat a diddy, keep a constant flow of camping. The camping literally blocks the bananas if you space everything right and then grab him when he approaches. Occasionally you will trip, but just don't get offstage at all costs. Did you know that if there are pikmin standing around you and you aren't moving, chances are a banana will hit a pikmin instead of you? Then when he tries to dash attack pick up the banana, grab him. I seriously hate fighting olimar and I know what I'm talking about--of course there are ways to beat the grab as diddy but it sounds like this might help you alot.

^ I am almost 100% positive that bananas will not hit idle pikmin just standing next to oli. Unless you mean a pikmin running back to oli? Then they will.
