I cut my own hair. I did a very bad job. I chopped off way too much at once, and now there's a giant bald spot in the side of my head. I do not own a hat, and I leave to start my first year of college in three and a half hours. What should I do?

Yeah, probably nobody will care. (It's University of Florida, btw) I don't want to shave my head, because I don't think baldness works for me, and it will take longer to get to the combover point than it will now.

You don't have to shave to the scalp. Just take an electric trimmer to even out the rest of your hair. It won't be too terrible to do unless that bald spot is, in fact, bald.

Thanks for that. Lol. I'm rooming with old friends, and they will be there when I get there, and one of them will never let me live this down. Gotta have a sense of humor when you're in college.

Just hope the professors don't think I'm some misguided punk if I need to see them for extra help or something

This might be late as you might have already left, but what i'd do is shave the half of the bald side, i mean everything, eyebrows, hair, and if you feel like you need to even your parts down there, just be full body half bald/half hairy.
