OK, hurricane fact time, just to make your heads hurt:

Hurricanes are named in alphabetical order, so after Ike, a J or K hurricane will come up.
Names are used only once on hurricanes, so this is the last time you'll see an Ike.
The deadliest natural disaster in the US was a hurricane that hit the same area decades ago, it killed over 6000 people.
Hurricane Ike is the first hurricane to directly pass over an American city, in this case, Houston. (directly as in the Eye passed over it).
The closest any hurricane has gotten to an American city before Ike was Katrina.
Houston is the largest city in the US to get hit by hurricanes on a regular basis.
New York is the largest city at risk of Hurricanes
Hurricanes are called Typhoons in the pacific, and cyclones in the Indian Ocean
A category 5 Typhoon is called a Super Typhoon, which means off the scale
A category 5 hurricane has wind speeds over 155 mph.
The most dangerous part of the hurricane is the storm surge.
Winds and water picks up debris, which explains why hurricanes kill people.
