I watched the first one, and only bits of it. From what I can gather, you have a few bad habits.
  • You roll too much. Mix up more with IAP and SH
  • Your laser camp game is dull. Mix it up with SHL and some retreating circle lasers
  • Grounded lasers? .. nuff said.
  • Get better at punishing whiffs; I saw you miss a Fsmash on a Marth that just missed Dolphin Slash.

Also, try to sweet spot the ledge more with phantasm; recovering onto the stage is too risky and punishable.

There's more, but I think you need the fundamentals down a little better.

No I don't do wifi.
Maybe at a In person meeting, (If SWR has another Smashfest), I will teach you it. It's not amazing it's actually remote configing for mad easy set-ups. And a "cool" phantasm trick.

Okay, I've watched your latest.

Right off the bat, what do I see? An incorrectly directed SHDL. Consistency my friend. That was a missed laser. Against Snake, every % counts.

Then, you for some reason give up your laser game at 0:46. I see you try and mingle with Snake close quarters for a little bit, and pay dearly for it. Against Snake, you've got to be at the advantage.

I see the snake at roughtly 70%. Then you go for a Dthrow > Dair. What are you thinking? He's going to bounce up way too high for you to connect with that. Hence, you get utilt in the face. Only reason you didn't die is cause you're on Poke.

OK firebird? as an approach? On Snake? are you out of your mind? (1:56)

Overall, the Snake (imo not that amazing) took you down by forcing you to into close quarters and dominated you with tilts. He made some stupid mistakes and that's how you evened the score and made it really close.

Try to take out grounded lasers, phantasming onto the stage (easily punished), and use more lasers.

The obvious, really. =)

thanks, your right really.. my finger slipped on that up-b lol. The beginning SHDL is my fault.. (cold hand johns lol) n yea what would u do from a d-throw at 70%? or do a f-throw? id naturally follow up with a n-air so i just wanted to try .. i dont have much experiance with snakes..

Utilize the D-Air spike; it is one of the most practical spikes in the game. Like Hyo said, mix it up, and don't roll dodge as often. The good thing about Falco's rolls are that they are very good. The bad thing about them is that they are very good, hence predictable. In all, I've seen way worse. I'm glad you dont Phantasm-cide.

Okay if he Phantasm-cided, I would have just said "drop Falco."

From watching the first video I would say that you roll too much and camped a lot with the lasers. I would try to switch it up when playing falco it's always the best thing to do because you were predictable with a lot of the boot smashes.

^IMO, Falco dittos are uninteresting and don't show (well) the extent of a Falco's ability. True, show us some games with notable players. People who suck are just CG fodder.

You camp at the wrong times and places. Also very predictable and subpar spacing.

Am I the only one who punishes roll's with up tilt? o.O

You aren't the only one who uses up tilt to punish a roll (esp on Luigi's mansion), but I tend to just reflex a dsmash. I don't know about frame advantage, but I just like how it hits on both sides.

up tilt can lead to an aerial or another utilt/upsmash. What does downsmash lead to? =D

Predictable? Well in my opinion, his use of firebird was unpredictable. It wasn't spammed, and for the most part (against Snake) he didn't get punished for it.

That really doesn't matter though, because firebird has almost 0 utility in the middle of combat that way. Unpredictable and useful vs. unpredictable and pointless are very different things. For the most part, when we say "be unpredictable," we mean that you should be using an assortment Falco's "good" moves. Firebird, is not one of them.

Hyo, I agree firebird shouldn't be used as an attack, but the firebirding (sp?) he did off the stage into the ledge confused Snake I'm sure. It looked like he just stood there and thought of what to do next.

oh that one. Yeah, that was a pretty good mixup. Dangerous though. If you miss you die DX.

Anyway, if you can do it consistently then it's just like melee!

Of course, sweet spotting with phantasm is just as good in brawl. (Melee is a different story.

There are a lot of better alternatives for LL. Notably, the recently discovered dthrow>jab> LL or simply ftilt>LL.

Just for future reference.

^It's not really the timing, it's the DI your opponent has (away)
