Here's a silly "Enjoyment Tier List" I made late last night for the hell of it:

View attachment 98763

I've been playing Falcon pretty much exclusively for the past 3 and a half months so I feel ya on that one. I still enjoy playing Ganon a lot though, so maybe in due time I'll go back to maining him. Still figuring things out though.
My friends are always going to give me flack for it

maybe I'll use him in friendlies to show people I can still play him.

But I agree with your list though. Whooping kids with DK is mad enjoyable

Got 13th at a 2 day regional with 69 melee singles entrants. Granted, I probably shouldn't have made Top 16 since almost half of my r2 pool didn't show up LOL

Had a set vs Ryan Ford on stream, I'll post it when it's available on yt

I cant say never going to party again at tournaments but then now i know for sure i need 8h+ of sleep to not play stupidly. Balancing these is pretty much impossible at tournaments.. aww man l dont have the same vitality as before.

Word, lol 8+hrs is hard to get at a tournament OOS. I'm so happy if I somehow get 5 lol. But that's obviously partially due to partying. Us elderly smashers need an addy connect LOL

I already feel like I don't have the vitality to party and then play well at a tournament. Well actually, it depends on whether I drink or not and how much I drink I guess. Otherwise, I'm good.

There are a lot of addy connects in the smash community. Not even joking, westballz memes aside.

Played like booty tonight but I got revenge on link lol. Then I lost to heartstrings 2-0, last stock/last hit situations both games. I missed crucial fastfalls after landing stomps to get the free grab, didn't refresh INV with dj before doing the normal getup while edgeguarding, missed some shield drops, and dropped half my chaingrabs. I don't know how I can forget things after playing this game so long, lmao. Unfortunately I had to leave/forfeit, wanted to friendly him some.

@tm he wanted to know how to beat you but I can't dog you like that :denzel:

Heartstrings used to MM me at every tournament and I don't think he would even take a game, he has come a long way. Last time we played I couldn't even take a game. TM keeps making everyone in Michigan too good at the MU lol.

Lol well he kinda just took advantage of my horrible mistakes, but yeah he's def got good habits.

Diosama Diosama spaced fair on shield to buffered roll/spot dodge can't be grabbed.

Do you guys think top platform camping peach is good?

In Linguini vs. Elliot, one of the commentators said Eikelmann told him that Peach can't do anything if you stomp on the top platform. If that hits, you will probably get 40+ off it, since it'll be hard to hit the tech. Combine that with really good spacing out of dash dance shai drops, shai drop dj wls, and with run offs and I think you could make Peach's life hell.

Sounds like a bad idea lol. She has projectiles...

Using the top platform to bait peach in is good though. Camping anything with ganon usually ends with you dead lol

Well you can react but in the end peach is better than ganon with turnips. And peach can control the tempo pretty much any way she wants out of neutral.

Camping with ganon doesn't usually end well. Patient play is much different than camping. I do have moderate success camping the top platform vs peach though. Can't camp spacies, can't really camp marth, samus, falcon, etc.

What I will say though is that I've had a good amount of success camping jiggs. Meaning virtually no approaches. I don't really know the matchup that well, so in a crew battle, I did it against abu and went even. It was only 2 stocks, so not that much to really go on, but spacing aerials outside of jiggs's range and forcing her to approach is actually a pretty good strategy. Makes the matchup way, way, way more doable IMO.

PseudoTurtle PseudoTurtle it sucks that camping is so good in some matchups. I always want to attack lmao
I know dude, literally not even fun. I'd probably rather lose than play like a ***** lol but it was a crew battle, so other people were relying on me to play optimally and take as many stocks as possible or whatever.

In tournament, I'd just go for those hard reads and lose (my usual strat).

And yo, important PSA for anyone feeling discouraged: many of you have probably heard of the player Dart! who's a buddy of mine and ranked 65th on the MIOM power rankings (too low, but he doesn't travel much). It took the man 2+ years to even make it out of pools. He is by no means naturally good at this game.

Look at him now... and keep in mind he BARELY ever plays anymore because of life johns / location johns (mid state IL is a whole bunch of nothing).

Keep at it, hard work clearly pays off.

I guess there are a lot of top players that have been late bloomers. I heard Kira didn't get even remotely good until 4 years after he started playing.

Crazy to see some people get really good in like a year and a half, and for others it takes like 4-5 years.

A friend of mine is just under being Power Ranked and has only been playing for a year. There's no time like now to get into/improve Melee with all the resources available.
