Um, replays arent really replays.... they are just "instructions" given to the computers so they can reenact the brawl to make it look like a replay.... If i transfered those to a computer the replays would be useless....Which is why i need some way to record brawls instead.Try loading your replays from your SD card if you have one.
Hmmm... i should try that! thanks! But, can ordinary cameras do that to or not?I used to have the same exact problem as you Viper.
I record my Brawl videos by hooking up my Aiptek A-HD+ 1080p camcorder's three AV cables to the back of my T.V., and the video game data gets streamed right to my camcorder's harddrive, which I then upload to my computer and then to YouTube. I could technically play Brawl with the T.V. turned off, and use the LCD as a T.V.
It has the same exact quality as a capture card. You'll need a camera that supportes VGA (Video Graphics Array). If it does, you'll be able to record any video game from your T.V. with perfect quality, and no need to hook anything up to a computer. Just when you're done recording the video, bring the camera over to the computer, hook it up via USB cable, and put the video onto your computer.
By the way, you can't upload Brawl replays and view them on your computer. It's impossible, and it will never be possible unless Brawl was a computer game, which it's not.
Well if you wanna get a camera just to capture analog video sources, the thing you need to look at on a camera is if it supports "VGA" (Video Graphics Array). If it does, then get it, and if you don't already have one, get three standard red/yellow/white AV cables. One jack on the end of it goes into your camera's AV input port, then plug the three AV cables into your TV's AV output.Hmmm... i should try that! thanks! But, can ordinary cameras do that to or not?
Cool, the 2 cameras i linked above are going to be my choicesWell if you wanna get a camera just to capture analog video sources, the thing you need to look at on a camera is if it supports "VGA" (Video Graphics Array). That's the method I do it. And for my Aiptek A-HD+ camcorder, when I'm recording a Brawl match, the video from the TV is being streamed to the camcorder's hard drive, and it's also streaming the video to the camcorder's LCD screen, so you can play Brawl while looking at the LCD. It's pretty kool. Then when I'm done I just connect it to the computer via USB cable, I convert the .mov video to .avi so I can edit them in Windows Movie Maker, then I reduce the file size using VirtualDub, then upload to YouTube.
That's my whole process![]()
Hmm, I don't really think those two would be good, seeing how cheap they are. Also, I don't think they can record analog video. Here is the exact same camera I use to record, check it out:Hmmm... i should try that! thanks! But, can ordinary cameras do that to or not?
Would this camera work?

Well to be honest dude, I really don't think you can get a decent one that cheap... If you do manage to find one, more than likely it will suck very, very bad. That's a little expensive... im looking around $20-$40 if possible...
Hmmmm.... i'll find one, im sure of itWell to be honest dude, I really don't think you can get a decent one that cheap... If you do manage to find one, more than likely it will suck very, very bad.
Not so much, homes.Hmmmm.... i'll find one, im sure of it![]()
Yeah, he's right. I used to want a Dazzle to record my games, but my Wii and computer were in separate rooms (not any more though cause my bedroom got combined with the computer room and the game room), and didn't wanna have a long *** trail of wires leading from the game room into the computer room. It would look ridiculous, it'd be a fire hazard, and my cat could possibly chew the hell outta it. So I had to get a camcorder that could record analog video, which I did. It has the same exact quality that a capture card would, too. Only thing that sucks is, I have to convert them using SUPER cause they are .mov files, and WMM doesn't support that file type. Not so much, homes.
In all honesty, if you are wanting to record your matches in decent quality for $20-$40, buy a used Dazzle and and good helping of USB extension cords. Else, you are going to have to spend some money on a Camera and/or Camcorder with HD recording capability. Believe you me, I know my fair share on the subject (check the Smash in HD thread for more).
I guess i wont record any brawls then.... i cant look at my PC when playing brawl anyway.... it's to far...Not so much, homes.

Maybe not, but there is a thread on my home forum that is dedicated to helping record people's Brawl replays for those who can't record for themselves.I guess i wont record any brawls then.... i cant look at my PC when playing brawl anyway.... it's to far...
Well, i appreciate all of your help![]()
He can't his computer is too far away for a CC.Im not sure if this was mentioned, but try a capture card. I ordered 1 from ebay & it cost $10. Im not sure also how to use it, I ordered it a couple of days ago. Also if you want to make a match longer than 3:00, you'll have to download the Homebrew Channel. It takes a lot though to get. ) : With it, you can hack Brawl even to extend replay time. ( :
If you record to DVD, then you run into the problem of interlacing--and that is a problem which takes some time to remove. You could go the route of Nero Digital and covert the VOB files to .mpeg4 files, but that is incredibly inconvenient for the small & large time recorder. What about a DVD recorder?
Just set it up like a VCR and record onto a DVD so you can transfer it to your computer later.
At least, that's how I would imagine it would go :=

Oh really?Interlacing isn't really a problem at all... VirtualDub and AviSynth are two great examples of free tools that can deinterlace, it really is not a rare feature in video editors.
Edit: Not to put down your expertise or anything, I actually found this thread useful and am bookmarking it. xP
