Ive been a fan of Meta Knight since Kirby Superstar and as a Brawl Character since the day he was announced. However, when the game came out I played with other characters and liked them more. I was playing with Meta today and I decided I want to get better with him but I need help on what combos or common advanced techniques to practice. I learned how to wavedash or w/e back in Melee but outside of that I didnt put any initiative towards getting better.

So, basically how to I play better and more specifically how do I get better with Meta?

Thanks

I figured both of those would be the responses I got lol.

I read them and watched alot of the videos and read alot of people's posts (did alot of lurking before today lol). None of them tell me how to practice just what moves to do.
It'll say something like "use ___, ___, ___, and finish with ___" but I don't know where to apply those or how to practice proper timing for them outside of practice (and I dont expect my opponents to all stand there and let me beat them up).

Meta Knight doesn't really have any legal advanced techniques, so it all really comes down to spacing, timing and not getting hit.

If you wanna practice illegal ones and lose friends/get banned from tournaments by using it, look for the IDC (Infinite Dimensional Cape) thread

Edit - PM me if you wanna brawl a bit; I'm a terrible MK player, but it's always fun to brawl new ppl

Practice moves that require a lead up (kill moves, high priority, etc) and a good way to practice is by watching and studying videos then replicating what you see- now that wont ensure any kind of metagame, you'll have to discover and hone that yourself, but it will help a lot. Try new things in the friendlies you play with people, mix it up, and attempt to implicate little techniques such as fast falling, perfect shielding, shield grabbing. Just play, and learn from your mistakes. Actively approach every fight with the intent to win, even if it is only a practice match with someone. If you die, think about why, and do away with the habit or habits that led up to your loss of a stock or the entire match.
