Dude, if you're worried that you're too old for Pokemon, don't be. My DAD plays Pokemon! He's been EV training his second team, which shows some amazing dedication. I, myself will be 18 in October, and I'm obsessed with trying to breed the PERFECT team.

In short, don't ever think you're too old to do anything

The generation that had fit into Pokemon's Target age group when it first came out is usually the group of people that still like pokemon today. I'd say that range fits at about 16-20 years of age. Of course you'll see some off shoot ages here and there like 13 and 22 because it's not an exact cut off.

About oldies playing the game, I've met those who are my age and older who have a large chunck of their lives based around collectable card games. It's creepy odd, but true. I just play because it is a game and I have the mind set of "games are for fun and competition". Besides, games are games, no matter how you look at it.
