How much better do you think Samus would become if...

Just a thread for hypothetical situations where Samus gets some buffs, hopefully you guys post some questions too!

First off, how much better do you think Samus would become if she had a good reliable jab ala Captain Falcon's?

Honestly I think it would rocket her up the tier list, since the main problem I find with Samus is having no reliable option up close, which fast characters are often able to take advantage of

I think a reliable jab at lower percents and against smaller enemies would work wonders. It sucks having to hit jab1 and not being able to follow up. I don't have the habit of linking it to down tilt, is it reliable?

Dream buffs include, more knock back on dsmash, more frontal range on up smash and auto cancelled down air to help the floatiness.

Also, just signed up here! Was trying for a while and it always gave me trouble on mobile, I'm a struggling Samus main :)

If bombs would explode on hit instead of the timer/on hit hybrid, it would be a huge buff. More than a true Jab 2 Combo.
Also less ending frames on dtilt would make it a true combo starter.

Honestly all things I would change for Samus:
- Bombs exploding on hit
- Jab > Jab true combo
- dtilt less ending frames
- upsmash, either faster frames or larger hitbox (IMO up smash is Samus worst move, there aren't any real situations were up smash would be more rewarding than an up.B or u.Air/n.Air or utilt)

If D-smash killed at a reasonable %, U-smash could hit most grounded opponents(This move is so situational it's not even funny), Super Missiles killed(Seriously this one, we can only shoot one, why doesn't it kill?), along with Jab Combo actually linking at low percents, life would be much easier.

I love playing as Samus, but she has a couple problems that (I think) really should be fixed.

I think we all can agree on the jab actually comboing.

Sam would be so much better if... She had her n64 dair, her melee nair, her melee grab, her n64 bombs, her brawl zair, melee missiles, and shine spark.

Edit: Outside of making her godlike, I think the most realistic and most frustrating disadvantage is how her fsmash has a deceptively short range. It's pathetic and just needs that extra two inches to feel and work right.

*Dumps a list*

-Super Missiles either having more damage, or having a better fire rate.
-Jabs connecting at all percentages.
-Bombs exploding on contact.
-Screw Attack having more kill power or more damage.
-U-Smash not being bad.
-D-tilt being a kill move again.
-More damage on Z-air.
-B-air not having a sourspot.

Out of that list, the first three are the biggest of them all, especially the Super Missiles.

Less lag on missiles.
Jab 1 having earlier IASA frames + extra shield damage for us to have some sort of means of shield pressure at close ranges and more mixup options.
Anime hair.
More hitstun on the weaker hits of Uair.
Stronger side throws.
A cool new red sportscar.
Fusion Suit DLC.
Improved Dsmash.
Improved Usmash.
A vaporwave soundtrack.
A land line because mobile connections are less reliable (almost as bad as Usmash)
A jab 1 that had a chance to to trip your enemy.

Truthfully, if I could just have the sex-kick back and bombs that exploded on impact, I'd be all set. More knockback on dsmash would be nice too.

But for real, one of my big issue with Samus in SSB4 is how little damage she deals. Of course she could use some knockback boosts, but her damage output seems really lacking IMO. Like, she did more damage in Brawl. If her F-tilt, Fair, U-air, Nair, Dsmash, Upsmash, Jab (obvi) all do so little damage. Combined with,
-small hitboxes,
-few reliable killing moves, and
-floatiness,
I think damage output is one of the major issues with Samus. Also awful roll, in a game where defensive play is super important.

I think if her moves came out faster, and had less end lag, that would put her up a good ways. She would be top tier if we gave her all of the goodies listed above.

Stuff I would like to see that hasn't been mentions (jab buff, usmash and dsmash buff):
Space jump: when she initiates her jumps (i.e. not after being hit) she can jump one extra time while spinning, if she takes an action she goes into normal falling mode. She gets one more jump from normal falling mode. This would give a maximum of three mid air jumps.
Utilt always spikes with the heel.

I think we all can agree on the jab actually comboing.

Interestingly from what I can ascertain from leaks, Screw Rush was going to be Morph Ball boost, and Apex Screw attack was going to be shinespark (hence the slower startup). Sad they got changed really.

I just learned last night testing more stuff that CS combos out of up-air if the damage (or rage - they're equivalent) is high enough. The hitstun on the up-air is sufficient. I have no idea why I didn't think of this before. This means all those triple string combos we're fond of can be cut short with a charge-shot for more damage and almost no chance to DI out of. It's like 47 damage out of a dash attack and 58 out of a bomb->up-tilt.
I promptly went out and did this to a bunch of humans on for glory. One of them sat stunned on the platform until it dropped him.

Am I the only one having any fun figuring out this new character? :p

make her have less ending lag on all missiles so she can camp better. Seriously she's supposed to be smash bros projectile specialist, so why the hell do link, toon link, and a freaking dog & duck have a better safer projectile game then she does?

Be able to attack out of morph ball.
Nair be one side even if it only has a hitbox in front of her like in the old games.
Guaranteed D throw to up air of fair.
Missiles having less ending lag.
Fair should not have that much lag!
Dair should meteor at all points of the hitbox, instead of only the middle.
Nerfs (for the funs)
Give up air less active frames.
Take away Bair's sweet spot.
Take away bomb jumping.
Fair and upsmash do no knock back like in melee.

-Giving Samus an actual crouch, meaning crouch into a morph ball since I feel like that is indeed what she would actually do instead of simply kneel slightly, in addition giving her a crawl , probably one of the fastest crawls in the game giving her some approaching options as well as being able to easily lay bombs on the go...and maybe if you press and hold downB you'll plant a stronger power bomb which takes longer to plant and longer to explode...
-Giving her a rapid firing neutral B since in basically every game she can fire rapidly this being her main form of attack, heck in prime the faster you mash the faster you fire...she can still charge her beam for a more powerful hit but this would give her better spacing options as it would make it harder for others to approach...
-Faster falling since being juggled is one of her main weaknesses, sure she uses some sort of jet propulsion/gravity features to make her floaty but don't you think she'd be able to drop to the ground a lot faster if she wanted to especially considering she's one of the heavier characters...
-This would be sorta broken but doesn't anyone else think that her screw attack should function similarily to how it does in the metroid games? Gives her a much better recovery at least horizontally could trap characters like DKs and still have as much kill potential at the peak of her jump...you could mash B and go into freefall once you stop...
-super armour on a fully charged shot...I mean she literally has 'super armour' being her varia suit but Little Mac can tank almost any hit on his smash attacks, which is annoying as **** on for glory, but yet Samus can't take any hit in her highly technologically advanced alien armoured suit specifically built to withstand all sorts of ****e...at least give her something with super armour....
-better U and D smashes her side smash is decent as it comes out deceptively quick, but her other smashes could be better
-sex kick, her new nair is pretty awful...

I really want Samus to be better in this game too many issues especially against faster characters...

At least her Zero Suit is amazing!!

Being able to charge her beam in the air, like almost all characters who have one can, buff bombs (anything buff would help really), less lag on missiles, better dodge thats not really slow, and a better jab. Probably forgetting some things, maybe i just want to much but these would be really nice

I wont play as her in smash ever again untill she atleast has her melee fall speed back.
