*To our B+ people.*
This idea just hit me.

Anyone who has homebrew should know of/have the homebrew browser, where you're able to get a great variety of applications to download on your SD card without having to remove it from your Wii.
Could you guys be able to do that for B+ official and nightly builds? Perhaps through Brawlplus.net?

It doesn't necessarily have to be apart of the homebrew browser, but a browser of your own. It could be a great way to increase accessibility. How about it?

i already asked Shortfuse if he could make a HBC app that downloads your choice of either Public Nightly or Latest official, checks to see if you have gameconfig.txt and if you dont, downloads that for you too. :V

HE just needs the info. Which I can't find.

Can't he just get the source code from the homebrew browser and modify it respectively?

There is a gct downloader for Windows on the brawlplus.net site that I made (bottom of the download page, extract the two files to SD root, run, etc etc), but since I have no C++ skill whatsoever, I can't make a homebrew app for it. =\

What info does Shortfuse need for it? I probably know it.

I think this will come to fruition it seems a lot simpler then the other amazing things done with hacks.
Although I'm one to talk it took me 2 days to get textures up and running.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the source code (if there is one) for the Code Downloader? It downloads codes from www.usbgecko.com/codes/ in a form of a txt file. This could be the same, except it downloads the Brawl+ txt file.

Dude this idea has been in everyones head since day one. What really needs to be done is a combination of Gecko OS and this and make it a Brawl+ channel, basically it checks for new codes sets if not load the game through Gecko.

Actually, I started work on that, but after GeckoOS turned closed source, I stopped.

I have a Brawl+ channel that is a custom compiled GeckoOS 1.07 that looks for BRAWLP.gct instead of RSBE01.gct, I use it with Brawl+ snapshots, but with the new GeckoOS being closed source, I can't use it normally :(

Why don't you just ask for the source? Tell him what you're doing, and he might not have a problem with it.

Theres no way.
GeckoOS was used as the base code for the backup loader, and the original creator of GeckoOS quit the scene because of it. The only reason development has continued is because an agreement was made to have it be closed source from now on.

Theres more to it, but thats the tldr version.

pssh, the only thing this needs to do is init libFAT, check to see if the folders are there, connect to the internet, and make two transfers, its not too bad.

Is there a URL on the brawl+ site that always points to the newest build?
Do you guys have a coder who knows how to do that?

Because GeckoOS dev isn't going to spend 5 minutes just cuz we ask him too.

We might as well make the gct downloader launch gecko from the sd card after it gets brawl+
Wouldn't be too hard.
