Nope, cause ness can escape it.
Then why the heck is DDD's infinite still banned? Samus/others can escape that.

Please read below:

At the time when the rules regarding grab release infinites were discussed, misinformation was spread on this point. To the point that there is still ambiguity over who's right.

I'm referring to EIDI. This referred to a technique that would put ness/lucas far enough away to escape the next grab. I've done extensive frame research on this, and concluded that if it does exist, it isn't by any real form of skill, but rather a timed break within the pummel animation of the grabber. As in, impossible to control with skill. Oh, did I forget to mention that I've been unable to produce even that result? I've never done a grab break that puts me far enough away even by chance in my testing. As far as I'm concerned, whether by skill or not, EIDI or anything that does what it would do does not exist.

Everyone at the time had accepted EIDI as a skill based mechanic, therefore everyone had this notion that ness/lucas can get away and that it wasn't an infinite after all.

BOTTOM LINE OF THIS POINT: Misinformation on behalf of our own has actively shaped the ruleset to its current state. I don't believe that people who decided it wasn't ban-worthy did it just to screw us over, especially with this considered.
Ness & DDD's infinite are true infinites. You are stuck in it until they kill you. Why in the world would you have a rule against one and not the other? Then both require the same game action (press grab) and result in the same effect (-1 stock).

Response to Zac's post?
Ive asked the ness mains plenty of times in the past and most of them dont care about the infinite being on. Tyson and tallman were gonna be screwed over the worst and they didnt really WANT it banned so i didnt ban it. I think Zac is just arguing that if u should feel the need to ban something then u need to ban it for all that apply. I disagree fully but ill do it for this HOBO. Grab release infinite on ness/lucas is banned.

Tyson has always argued that the GR on Lucas and Ness should be banned, he just doesn't go nuts because it isn't banned.

Allan I posted because you responded with incorrect information. It's important to do research about characters you are making up rulings if you are a TO.

Samus can get out of DDD's infinite.
Ness cannot get out of Marth's infinite.

My info is correct because i base it off of common sense. Being frame perfect(or near frame perfect) is the ONLY way to guarantee ness/lucas cannot get out. Since this is BRAWL and no human is perfect 100% of the time(combine those 2).....the chances are rather good for a ness/lucas to escape or at least eat a f-smash a few times per match. With DDD is different because u DONT have to be frame perfect. You can afford to be "off" a little and still nail the ICG. So i ban it since its FAR easier to LAND and keep on doing.

Its called reasonable possibility. Ness has it, samus dont.

I wanted to use ness for some mid tier matches but I don't want to get grab released across the stage or some other dumb ****.

That logic is wrong Alan...being perfect framewise on certain things are alot easier than others. Pressing Z over and over is alot easier than me being perfect framewise when locking someone across stage.

Also might point in saying that is Tallman, realizing it is POINTLESS to try and fight marth without the infinite banned, chose to pick up another character.

These sort of these things is eventually what leads us to mk, who has nothing stupid like that to worry about.

Sorry if it seems im making a big deal about this, i dont intend to. But i like ness :(

You also got three stocked on the third match.

It's dangerous. You need to use bair more often. It hurts Sonic's approach.

=====

I played Melee. Shine infinites don't scare me because I don't run into those traps. :p

I agree, but this situation does not fit under that.

Pressing Z over and over is alot easier than me being perfect framewise when locking someone across stage.
We aint talkin about locks.

Also might point in saying that is Tallman, realizing it is POINTLESS to try and fight marth without the infinite banned, chose to pick up another character.
yet he also said to me several times to not ban the IGR.

mk needs to be banned.

I banned it so shove it.

At the last hobo esca wanted to team with me if we ever did mid tier so i said yes. Like out of no where 5 other people appeared and said esca asked them to MT team so i dropped him for fear of being left out in the cold(like what happened to tallman last time.....). Then i confronted esca JUST NOW and he said he IS teaming with me so all is good. I did ditch you ozz but i tried to not do it the BAD way. We are 1-1 now, u trashed me in reg teams so its fair, right? whaahahahahahahaahha
