Hierarchies of Power: The Ganon Community Tier List! (Updated October 8th 2017)

At the urging of others to gain more recognition and traction, I'm making a semi-formal post with regards to how the tier list is currently being run and how it should be run. I'll begin by saying that this is not aimed at the panelists who judge people based on matches; I'd like to make it extremely clear THE CURRENT PANELISTS ARE FINE. What I want to draw attention to is the way in which the panelists judge people and move them from tier to tier - this is to say that others and myself have A PROBLEM WITH THE METHOD OF EVALUATION. As it is now, it seems to be an extremely free-form sort of evaluation, from the side of being judged (people can't see what goes on in the panel itself). This makes it difficult to pinpoint the points which are deserving of A-tier and those which would be classified as something like C-tier; not only that, but it also makes everything feel extremely subjective with a heavy amount of bias.

Noted, I would like to mention that I have browsed the sorts of comments the panel gives to people; they aren't terrible as they do well to identify some good points about someone's gameplay, but they don't touch on a lot else aside from what sticks out - good and bad. People seem to want more of a feel for where they're at and I don't think the current system offers this. With that said, I would like to propose a new system of evaluation and a set of criteria to help panelists evaluate players in a more comprehensive and meaningful way. It should also be said that while this is a proposal, by no means is it a finished product - constructive input is crucial so that we can build up a system which is generally agreeable reasonable players.


TL;DR - people don't like the way the tier list is being handled (not the panelists). We want change. Here's how we want it to change.

You're in Ganon discord now I assume, but the answer to your second question is yes -- the tier list is open to anyone, just follow the submission rules in order to be evaluated (either post videos of your gameplay against opponents near your skill level, or play an evaluator).
