33rd/93 @ Arcadian Fury (used Ganon in losers, otherwise mostly Bowser/some Ike) https://smash.gg/tournament/arcadian-fury/events/wii-u-singles/standings
Beat The Terrific Tracy which is one of the better Ness mains in Ohio, but also ultimately went 1-2 (with a a dq 2-2). Almost jv2ed my opponent to make top 32 but then SDed so that was cool and not frustrating or anything
3rd/19 in the Arcadian Fury AM Bracket all Ganon, but Single Elim so it's not super significant. Went all Ganon though and beat 2 Clouds before losing so that's something? http://challonge.com/acardianfuryambracket
I'm slowly dropping the Dorf in bracket for Bowser but I figured I'd post what results I DO have of him from recent events.
EDIT: Forgot I also got freed up at SSC, 1-2. Played a decent Palutena double 2 stock, WAS ONE HIT AWAY FROM TAKING A GAME OFF MR. E AND EVEN HAD A STOCK LEAD GAME 1!!! but lost... then played a Falcon in losers named Gravon who was a ****ing hidden boss with a ton of MU exp and got absolutely annihilated.
I been told by serval higher player ganons that I'm at least a c rank I also placed 13th out of 40+ people in a online tourney my crew hosted which was near the end of summer. http://clip2net.com/s/3O0MDot
- September 19th 2017 – Insurrection XXXVI (Round Robin) - 6th/11 http://challonge.com/Insurrectionxxxvi
Took a game from a PR player (King Beef), and had definitive wins over the people I did beat, so I'm fairly satisfied with this.
- September 22nd 2017 – Kent Combo 54 – 17th/36 https://smash.gg/tournament/kent-combo-54/events/wii-u-singles/standings
Performed about how I expected. Lost in winner's to a Kent PR (who got 3rd, losing to 2 Ohio PR), and in Loser's to a pretty decent Link that I struggled with because I couldn't adapt my playstyle enough from the other Link I beat in winner's.
- September 29th 2017 – SmashFestNEO Biweekly #3 Smash4 – 7th/9 http://smashfestneo.challonge.com/4sb3/standings
Definitely could have done better here, but I was on tilt from having to switch back and forth between Melee/Arms/Smash4. I probably could have taken my winner's r1 set against Ryu, but I didn't play patiently enough.
I think that this month has shown me that I gotta work on dealing with projectile characters (Link, Pikachu, and Robin mostly, but also G&W to an extent).
Going to another decently-sized tourney (NyanCon2017 [yeah it's a con tourney but the TO's are Smash players and know what they're doing]) coming up on October 7th, so I'll edit this then.
I'm curious how you guys would rank me overall so I'll post a few recent videos including part of a set I played with Ryo (Roy). I don't necessarily want to be ranked though because pink phantom ganon flair > all the other ones. The videos also go from oldest to newest.
Just got 9th at Counterpick, a stacked bi-weekly in the netherlands. Took a game off badr 5th dutch pr.
Played terrible but it was hype! https://imgur.com/y5OW7n8
Scene held an online weekly a while back and I did well in that one. https://youtu.be/YRfTC_aWkIc?t=89
The three sets in the time period from the time stamp to 26:28 are the ones to look at.
Kent Combo 56 - 2nd/21. Went half Ganon half Bowser, used all Ganon in grands but lost 3-1 to Agent's Mewtwo. So mad because I missed a game winning aerial flame choke -> platform -> dsmash after he rolled away because I had too much rage and even though it was the right first hit he just flew past the second hit... every game of grands was last stock last hit.
Gleed here, just gonna post what went into this past tier list update. I'll start by explaining (1) the panel of evaluators, (2) the methodology we used to make the list, (3) the raw changes players experienced between this and the last version, and (4) some explanations for players that we documented. (It's 4 hours past my bedtime, forgive me for not proofreading.)
First, a panel was elected to take over A2's position as the head of the tier list. These elected players include MGK, adom, Vermanubis, Opana, and myself. A2ZOMG also chose Kosk to take over the tier list thread since we were slow to update on our own. Kosk also enlisted the help of Liqui and The Forkies to evaluate and participate on the panel.
Second, the panel worked hard to come up with a fair way to evaluate and have a tier list that reflected most closely what we could agree on. we decided as a panel that we should do a survey to determine a sort of "starting place," to determine roughly what the consensus was on our opinions of each player. We conducted a survey using surveymonkey in which panel members arranged players on the original tier list in the order they would prefer to arrange it and where they would set the tier cutoffs. We then put the results into a spreadsheet, averaged the changes, and used the average tier list as a starting point. Any outliers were discussed, as averaging a survey certainly has its limits. Players who wished to be re-evalutated, added to the list, or had been recently added to the list were given special attention. We created a google doc for each player and their submissions from smashboards, and we then divided the labor between the panelists to watch each of the vods we received. Anytime a panelist wasn't sure or wanted a second opinion, multiple panelists would participate in the evaluation. Once the discussions had completed, we then began cleaning up the averaged survey list, adding new players, and rearranging players who asked to be reevaluated. We then published several versions of the list, while making manual adjustments, until we came up with one we could agree on and that we all felt was fair and accurate to the best of our abilities and given the time we could dedicate to this project.
Third, I will now give the tier list showing the changes in position. For example, adom went up 5 places compared to the previous list. Many of the players in C tier show a negative change because of new players added above them.

Fourth, I will now provide some justification for the players who asked to be added, reevaluated, or who were recently added to the list. Anyone else who was moved was moved based loosely on the average of each panelist's experiences, prior opinions, gameplay with, etc. of the player. For example, LiQui has demonstrated an insane amount of improvement in the past few months, and commonly takes the most stocks in our crew battles, and although this wasn't discusssed as a panel, the panelists were aware of his improvement already and was reflected in the survey. Some of these are summarized from our chat, others are pasted from our google doc.
adom4: Really the only tournament active, returning S tier. Placed 9th (!!!) at Syndicate, a large EU major, losing to iStudying and Purple H.
Dr. Dorf: Prominent EU dorf with solid results lately, including over Meru and a great French Sheik. Very strong fundamentally.
Paragonx9: Good win over Meru on WiFi and some respectable results lately, but didn't submit sets so we didn't move more than one spot up.
ZekeReds: Vast improvement in the past few months, recent VODs show A tier quality mastery of Ganon and plays matchups well. Would like to get VODs with better opponents before he can be moved up any more.
i5: Strong fundamentals, good movement, good potential. See Abbey's notes from his last update.
Jp3: Moved down from A tier due to unsafe double jumps and excessive use of wizkick. In one set he attempted 10 grounded and landed only 2, and 11 aerial and landed only 3. Several were from max range.
Evil John: Some good empty hops, tomahawks, aerial chokes with platform mixups, etc. Poor choke followups, excessive edgeguarding with dair, and poor ledge coverage keep him from being higher.
YUNGCrusade (NotMoney): Seems to understand what tools he can use in certain situations, knows what will work best in certain areas of disadvantage, at least in terms of aggressive retaliation. I particularly liked his use of wizkick (and other moves) to cover landings, despite how many times the kicks were used. However, I do feel he gets a too read-happy at times, which results in him losing out on potential damage/longer advantage state. This is particularly prominent in several choke scenarios, where several shots at guaranteed % were passed over for the sake of a harder read. Edgeguarding could use some tightening up, along with a few spacing nuances. I’d like to see him fight some higher-quality players as well.
Blockmanz: Decent fundamentals, but punish game could be improved quite a bit.
OmegaRaider: Some noticeable improvement, mostly observed in matches with panelists.
BABOONGA (VROOM99): The shulk in his VOD was OK. Demonstrated a few well-spaced bairs and used WK judiciously, but uses jumps too much and DJ unsafely. Lackluster punish game and edgeguarding / ledge coverage.
Crusticus: Didn't move much, don't really know what to do with his result at small tournaments. Need some more footage.
Hybrid: Significant improvement in neutral, decision making, and playing safe. Recommended to B tier by A2.
TRTMA: Can handle ganon, but doesn’t really play the matchup that well, lackluster followups after choke, a choke or two from max range. Nothing particularly terrible, but nothing impressive either. Player quality in the VODS is pretty questionable.
Geotic: He didn't know the match-up against any of his opponents' characters; Pikachu, Fox, and Captain Falcon. He won because his opponents were playing bad and couldn't tech choke and chasing Ganon vertically in the air for EZ$ raged DownBs. Even the commentators were saying his opponents were doing stupid **** and letting themselves get hit. And Ganon is notorious for defeating players that do exactly that. At the end of the day, his ledge trapping was decent his skills as a player were alright, his Ganondorf needs more work, and his match-up knowledge needs the most work
Dibly: Ranking questionable because his opponents aren't very good in the VODs. Played fairly well, but need better footage.
Shin Gototatenks: Defense needs work, as well as playing in advantage state. Appears to autopilot excessively.
8-Bit Vex: Mostly mixed performances in games versus panelists. Has demonstrated some improvement, but a lot of the exp appears to be in the ditto and other MU exp could definitely use work.
Miazelement: Excess smash attack charging in neutral, excess use of WK.
AMH9000: Gave in 2 Ganon ditto vids. He plays like a mid C. Should submit vods from other matchups to demonstrate skill.
kosk is the best (Rocknroll): Very linear, predictable recoveries, as well as responses in certain situations. Can handle Ganon fairly well and perform some good combos, but too easy to punish. Needs most work on defense.
Ham-ondorf: Evaluated personally by LiQui. Needs a lot of work, but has some decent potential.
I hope this clears things up a bit. Our apologizies for not having the smoothest announcement, but updates should be much easier and clearer from here on out. We will also endeavour to post a summary as in tier lists past. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
- Gleed, adom, Kosk, LiQui, The Forkies, MGK, Vermanubis, Opana
I'll be going to some bigger events in the future so I can hopefully climb up some more... but eventually I'll be dropping Ganon.
Speaking of, why is Arconi still here? He's told me he hasn't played Ganon in bracket in over a year... pretty sure he's also Ohio but iirc he's been primarily an MK main for a while now. Just curious.
EDIT: 9th/36 Kent Combo 57. All the games I won were with either Mario or Ganon, so I'm counting it. Would've went 0-2 if I didn't switch to the king of evil.
EDIT 2: Stream match vs. decent local Lucina. Gave him the Dorf hands. Also some doubles. We went 0-2 that week in dubs tho rip (this is footage from Kent Combo 55, where I got 9th/35. I wasn't on stream for 57, except for commentary.)
Guess I should post my somewhat recent results here, oldest to newest. tfw most of them are losing

This is the most tourneys I've gone to in a month, and also the first whole month I've gone without getting dead last at anything, which I'm pretty happy about.
Had a couple decent/good wins (Zesty, somewhat of a local threat at KSU, Vam, who doesn't go to a lot but is a local threat with a good Ike/Link, RiDLR, who's a really good Bowser, MasterChef, a really good G&W [who beat Colinies with his Charizard earlier this year], and Barn, probably the 2nd or 3rd best Little Mac in OH), and overall less "bad losses" than in the past.
I've been trying to make an effort to play more patiently/calmly and adapt more, and I think it's paying off.
I used to think I should be playing rushdown Ganon as often as possible to try and prevent opponents making the most of neutral, where Ganon stuggles, but I've moved away from that mindset (as in I'm more ok with being in disadvantage and eating damage sometimes lol).
I've also noticed I've been playing a lot more sets to game 3 (compared to the past) instead of getting 0-2'd, and I've been clutching out/making comebacks from deficits in more sets as well.
Still having issues with some mu's, mostly Bayo, Cloud, ZSS, and Robin, but overall I think I've shown (at least to myself and as far as my mentality goes) a lot of improvement.
Edit:
November 3rd 2017 - Fall Brawl 2 Singles - 2nd/14 http://challonge.com/FB2EBS4
Felt pretty good about this, beat a wide variety of opponents, double eliminated one of my former bracket demons, and went to game 10 last hit last stock of GFs. Coulda clutched it out but I made a bad decision to wizkick (lol) at a critical moment game 10. Need more Cloud practice.
November 4th 2017 - AOA Extra Life - 1st/13 http://challonge.com/aoa_el_smash4
Nothing particularly notable here; it was single elim, but I didn't drop a game, so that's nice.
Had a couple decent/good wins (Zesty, somewhat of a local threat at KSU, Vam, who doesn't go to a lot but is a local threat with a good Ike/Link, RiDLR, who's a really good Bowser, MasterChef, a really good G&W [who beat Colinies earlier this year], and Barn, probably the 2nd best Little Mac in OH), and overall less "bad losses" than in the past.
Not to burst your bubble but to put some knowledge down: RiDLR isn't even the best Bowser in NEOH. That'd probably be Snare or myself. He goes 0-2 a lot when he DOES enter but he's a solid TO/streamer. MasterChef's G&W didn't beat Colin, his Zard did and he's had a rough character transition IMO (but this is probably the best win you've listed). Barn isn't even the best Mac in NEOH (Snare), but I struggle w/ Barn myself sometimes. He's pretty tricky. Zesty is getting better but he's not a major threat. Def one of the better/only Toon Links though and since that MU is rough I'd give you points. I also beat him with my Ganon though, so I think it's just a rough MU for him personally.
EDIT: I'd say Snare is best in both just because his Bowser has a win on Colinies and his Mac has a win on Cilvanis.
