Yeah, the game was going to be rated M regardless - and, frankly, a lot of the persona designs are more risque then her outfit. She may be changed if she's turning up in a non-M-rated game later (ex/ Smash), but within P5R she should be fine.

That said, personally, can't say I really care what happens. I play Persona for the story, not for the leotards.

So, been having a bit of dilemma recently. I've been wondering what's the best route to continue my adventures in Persona. Persona 3 presents a bit of a conundrum as neither FES nor Portable seem to really be the optimal versions of the game (I hate missing all of the animations of FES in Portable, but loathe not having control of a party in a RPG). And I certainly know 3 has more dated mechanics like completely random dungeons and such. I own Portable on my Vita thanks to a sale, but I could get FES for PS3.

Persona 5 on the other hand just seems so damn compelling and more enticing after hearing so many good things about it. But now Royal is coming out next year and I'm wondering if I'm better served just waiting for that version and playing other games in the mean time (Such as Persona 3 Portable), but Persona 5 is really cheap these days and I've wanted to play it for ages (Which to be fair, it also shares this problem with 3)...

I figured this would be the best place to just outright ask given the number of Persona fans. Any tips?

And while I prefer FES, Portable is a better way to experience P3, especially in FeMC's route. Better social links, better gameplay, a lo of QoL changes etc. I think trying out first and then considering buying FES if portable elements isn't your thing would be the way to go.

Since you have a Vita, I recommend P3P more than P3 FES. FES does have a nicer presentation (P3P goes for a more Visual Novel style to it) and you do get an extra (canonical) mode with The Answer (which I've heard is grind heavy, wouldn't recommend), I think P3P is better in that you get to control your party and FeMC does offer a unique experience. It depends on if you want to have a better presentation or better quality gameplay (and with the former, if you have the cash to own FES).

P5 on the other hand, I would wait until we hear more news about Royal. I don't see any harm in owning P5 at the moment, but Royal seems to be polishing and fixing up the game...
If you have the patience, I say go for Royal... but let's hope that October 2019 date doesn't become a meme.

Yeah, confirmation on Persona 3 Portable seems nice. I don't know why I've resisted playing it for so long.

Though, I've just been drooling over Persona 5 for ages, and I know the Western release date is supposed to be next year... When base Persona 5 is just $20, it's super tempting to just dive straight into the regular version now and just continue avoiding Persona 3 because of how damn good 5 looks (Not that 3 looks bad, I'm just scared of some mechanics I've heard about in it like being forced to romance relationships of the opposite gender and the tiring mechanic making dungeons not as grindable...)

Additionally, we got our first look at English-language Catherine: Full-Body footage from IGN. They have also confirmed that "certain characters are properly named in the credits" and that "some lines may have been changed about this character as well." I was kinda assuming that would be the case, but it's good to have confirmation (even if the confirmation weirdly has the word "may" in it).

That is indeed true, but Ann is missing something Kawakami has (something that is even bigger than being a Phantom Thief)...the powers of being a Hot Teaching Maid...and that’s all you need to take down any shadow or Smash character

I believe ATLUS has only ever debuted a Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE trailer at E3. It's possible, but they really prefer the Japanese-focused E3-equivlant Tokyo Game Show.
