I mean there are like a bunch of variations of the grab. I mean you could also alternating grab to footstool to ice to grab. Doesn't really matter. They aren't my mains, but it's banning a big part of them.

On my spring removal: I have a Melee controller and a Brawl controller. Melee has a melted R button because I like to put finger on corner of R to wave dash, l cancel, and do anything else with shield. I don't know why. Then my Brawl controller is a newer one and it has springs removed as it doesn't detect it. If I ever needed the springs in that controller, it's really easy to put back in.

I'm stoked for this though.

If I don't change my mind by tomorrow, consider this my final answer.

The ICs chain-grab infinite [every variation] IS allowed and WILL NOT BE BANNED until the presence of this infinite proves to be broken and produce imbalanced tournament results.

I'm waiting on guidance from more experienced tournament hosts as to whether it will stay this way or have specifications as to what's allowed and what isn't.

it really IS terrifying, though :( :( :(

I'd rather face a whole tourney of nothing but MKs spamming tornado than have my soul crushed by some sicknastyamazinglyefficient ICs player passing me around like some ***** that might as well be a CPU or, more accurately, an unplugged controller............

Hm...I'll be there. Four Team S.T.A.R.S. members should be there but we need IV and S-Man. Heh but's it's brawl so I should be good. Pitzer and I will own on teams.

Alex and me already have a team mate. My brother is partnerless...? I don't know if he wants to participate in teams but I can convince him. And you know S-Man and IV are anti-Brawl...:/

I mean who knows! you could check back here tomorrow and see: ta daaaa ****'s banned! I'm still thinking about it....it's actually a really tough thing to call because it COULD potentially have a domino effect of "okay...well...is THIS variation banned? what if I throw in a footstool-iceblock in there?" and then you have the all too shltty prospect of destroying so much of a certain character's metagame that there aren't many options left simply due to legality :(

On the other hand, there ARE ways around getting grabbed by ICs depending on what character you are. I just think that very few people have solid experience against people who can use Climbers in such a way, so they're very ill prepared to avoid the setups that ICs will use to grab since their grab range is actually quite small [but their dash grab seems crazy good? I have no idea, never used em]

Maybe some characters will just have a ******** time against it. There were matchups in Melee where, essentially, getting grabbed = death. And while ICs can do this to everyone [!!!!!] at any percent [@_@!!!] with enough practice and knowledge, maybe the majority of matchups for ICs are ones where it's difficult for the Climbers to get the grab.

But despite those difficulties............then you hit that one crucial issue: all it takes is one grab. And unless you're on some oddly shaped stage or a moving level, you pretty much have to hope the ICs player simply messes up. Not even Waveshine-"infinites" against the few characters it really worked on were so broken that one use of that tactic can guarantee a stock-loss with perfect execution :(

Feeling the pressure huh lol. I know what you mean about banning things. Its hard to say where you draw the line. I know bigger characters are easy to chaingrab with the climbers, but other then that all I really know about them is that they're from some old nintendo game.

IC's aren't top tier for a reason. The alternating grab has different timing for each character. That and that fact that on some characters it's rediculously hard to grab them. I mean try grabbing metaknight consistantly. Plus, with their lack of traction shield grabbing is harder because they are pushed back more than others. Yes I do feel your pain though about the 0 to death combos. Maybe I'm biased because they were my mains in melee and I have a soft spot in my heart for them.

Shoutout time:

Toasty: Thanks for hosting a great tourney today and for giving me a ride to the venue. It was well worth the time and money to go to. Also, thanks a ton for letting 7 take Rhan's spot on my team until he arrived. It was such a blast.

Rhan: Hey, teaming with you was fun. I looked over the videos of our team matches against Serpent and Evan... as well as the other one we had recorded. That was so fun stuff. I definitely wanna team with you more often. BTW... you still owe me the $10 for your entry. Just hit me up for my entry next time we team and we will be even.

7: Dude, thanks for stepping in for the first round of teams since Rhan was so late. Wish we could have beaten Schoolie and Dobee... but it was still fun.

Schoolie: Sorry about the mix-up that seemed to cost you game 2 in our set. I thought you knew it was tourney because I was going through all the tourney motions. Most the others would have been able to tell by the way I approached that it was tourney... I never act cocky when playing people I feel are better than me. Still, epic set.... it came down to the wire. Wanna play you more man.

Serpent: Thanks for the ride back to my house. Recording was crazy and you played a very solid tourney... had a blast in our ROB v Snake friendlies. I really think that this is leaning me toward learning ROB as my main.

Killz: Dude, epic friendlies. I'll tell ya... I never get bored playing against you. We can always trash talk, and do stupid things, but we always know its in good fun. Thanks for hanging with me after we both got knocked out.

Kadaj and Mashi: Thanks for the training sessions this week guys.... they helped some. Kadaj, your training helped me with Diddy, it made it good enough to give some of the veterans (Schoolie) a solid set. Mashi, your training helped me get better for teams AND realize that I had some potential with ROB. Hell, I was even using ROB in teams. It was crazy fun. I've gotta get with Toasty and Schoolie and learn the way of the robot.

Finally, to all I played against.... it was fun.
