the hardest part of expanding the community is the half year it takes for a nooby to get to at least connors level.

lmao

it doesn't take a half year to get to the nooby level.

that' swhat i'm saying, when you play with good people who help you out, you get better very quickly very easily

it's just up to the noobs to make the effort

but think of the kind of people willing to make that commitment starting from scratch.
when it comes down to it all your left with is one thing, kids.

kids = no rides
no rides = no training

and no KID is going to pay gas money to get people to come over unless he's commited 100% to smash.

it's not a matter of not training the noobs, there are plenty of noobs and people who want to get better. it's a matter of placement. any noob would be down for you to come to their place and train them, but are you really going to go that far to train someone when you're not even good yourself?

disclaimer: the "you're" is pertaining to anyone with basic advance technique knowledge.

btw in my defense, i offered to pay your guys' food + let you sleep over

well truthfully, a lot of people only get into smash for a short bit, until they realize it's a long road ahead and lots of losing to get better. It's easier to cop out and not commit, but that's how weak your resolve was in the first place.

Don't know, but whatever, I want to get better and play more, I know that much.

dude quitting seems hella easy

you get into the scene, learn all the advanced techs, learn to play fast, don't go 0-2 in tournament anymore and then you hit a FAT wall

and you're like man, this is gay

LOL it seems especially bad for fox/falco players, because that's the first part of your game that needs to be perfected

eventually you realize that trying really hard or "wanting it" super bad doesn't make THAT much of a difference, because it's mostly about experience in the end

it's just, if you still like the game by this point, you stick with it

it also doesn't help that you're in what feels like a stagnant community sometimes

^^^^^all the things that've made me think about quitting in the past
