I can't come to this, for uh... **** I'll just say it. I'm on this really weird *** diet where I have to eat schedueled times with 500 calories a day, of very specific foods, and I just can't make the big trip. really sorry to Rhan and BEHR and others I said I was coming; that was when I lived in Columbia, now I moved 2 hours further and am in diet prison. but hey, 20 pounds in 8 days, hard to complain too much.

have fun guys : I hope someone from NC or Yayuhz takes first!!!

Here's my setup...

I use a camcorder and laptop combo.
Here's a pic of our setup from a previous tourney this summer.

What we have planned for HERB is kinda like that but with some improvements.

Rather than pointing the camera at the TV, that camcorder also supports direct input, just like most capture cards. Infact it does a higher quality job at digitalizing video than your average capture card.

The camcorder is connected to the laptop with a firewire cable. The video records on to mini DV tapes for backup and capturing later, while simultaneously streaming on the laptop.

The camcorder also supports high quality XLR ports for microphones. We'll be bringing one microphone for commentary...if anyone that can let us use a 2nd mic, that's even better.

In the post-production, I apply some filters and resizing to make the videos imitation HD quality. Here's an example of what our videos look like after this method.
