Hi guys

This is my current schedule for majority of weekdays:

6:00 - Wake up
7:00 - Leave for school
7:30 - Arrive at school
8:00 - Go to school library and finish homework
8:30 - School starts
15:25 - School Finishes
15:30 - Badminton Training
17:00 - Training finishes
18:00 - Get home and have dinner
18:15 - Finished dinner
18:20 - Hop on smashboards/play games/practise cello/watch anime
22:00 - Start Homework and study

As you can see, I feel I have a serious problem which I need to address. If I'm going to succeed in getting into a course at UWA (university of western australia) for a law and engineering double degree, then I need to drop these horrible habits right now. I believe if I can get into good habits now, I have a much better chance of doing well 2 years down the track.

But the problem is, I don't know how to fix my procrastination problem. As you can see, I am a very busy person, but I don't make productive use of my spare time. I just seem to have trouble starting homework and study. This greatly affects the next day too, since I am up until late studying for tests when I have to wake up at 6am the next morning to get to school. It is normal for me to be operating on 6 or 7 hours sleep, when I should be getting 8 or 9.

I also find it very hard to do assignments and stuff on the computer, because smashboards and facebook are always there to distract me. I've learnt to switch off msn and aim though :p

So yeah, who's got ideas which can help?

Don't ask me, I have the same problem, busy life, free time goes to smashbords and facebook, AIM, ect. Heck, I'm on smashboards at school RIGHT NOW, and I'm suppose to be working on an assignment, guess that's more homework tonight. But what do you think I'm going to do if I get a computer in front of me? :( it's so hard not to get on here and check up on threads.

This may seem sad but maybe you should stop involving yourself with so many threads, that way you don' t have the need or want to check up on them as often. For me, I'm not going to do that. I'm fine being this way, I mostly always get my work done, and being on Smashboards is fun and makes me happy, so the little extra work here and there doesn't bother me so much, i've adapted to being like this.

you have to sort your priorities better.
my problem is holding onto/saving my money, which falls in a similar catagory

Perhaps you should start your homework earlier in the evening. It seems like you have a pretty packed schedule, but if you do your homework first, then you could mess around on SWF and watch anime after.

That's what I would do anyway.

You're gonna have to hand in something unfinished before you see the merits of starting early.

If not for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.

I'm a professional procrastinator, I always procrastinate but I also always make things work out in the end. If you can handle your business, it's okay for you to procrastinate. If you can't, then it's time for a lifestyle change perhaps.

I think your procrastination could possibly be attributed to an eight hour day of school. Eight hours doing anything; espcecially school can wear on your mind because you've gotta think/concentrate a lot. It's even more the case when you do it five times a week. Doing homework on top of it isn't something to look forward either. Your probabally also a bit worn down physcially to after badminton practice.

When I was in high school I hated getting up early than attending school for 8 hours and then on top of that going to cross country/track practice and then homework. Even people who work 8-10 hour shifts want to relax when they get home if possible. Now that I'm in college I really enjoy only having to attend classes for a total of four hours a day for the most part. I have more time to do homework and have longer weekends to get it done due to only having a class for 1 hour on Friday. I'm a more effective student this way.

You might possibly procrastinate because your busy all day and then want to spend some time doing relaxing activities. The situation becomes worse when it's five times a week.

Dude, I have the exact same problem, **** Smashboards, FaceBook and Youube :(

I get about 7 hours of sleep and only do my homework at about 11:00 at night, sometimes 12:00. Not good.

I'm not sure what to say since I have the same problem, but I've seriously thought about unplugging my Pc & and storing it somewhere I can't reach easily, or smashing it or something, it's getting that bad.

Yeah, this definitely contributes to my problem. The last thing I feel like doing after coming home from a busy day is studying. I just don't really have energy to think.

I was waiting for that post GoldShadow ;)
