It is said by other top players that no one can challenge him at the moment, not meaning unbeatable though. It seems he has way too much experience, unless he stops playing the game or stops practicing, I doubt he would ever be beaten.

The way I heard it was that Isai at his top possible level of play is beyond anybody else's. He's lost a few times, but at that highest level, he's nearly unstoppable (if not completely unstoppable)

When you have the sheer amount of experience with so many different high-level players that Isai has, you basically control the game. He also played pro Melee for a good while as we all know, and I don't doubt that helped a LOT. That doesn't mean he can't lose, it's just that no one has done as much with this game as he has. And I'm not sure since I wasn't around at the time, but I'm pretty sure very many staples of the Smash64 metagame of each character were developed and/or popularized mainly by Isai.

And, he's probably reading this thread.

How do you think you get good at competitive games? You loose and learn through your mistakes. Of course he has lost, probably many more times than you think. It's just not often nearly enough anymore since he's obviously the best SSB64 player. Although, as the saying goes, even the big ones go down.

Though if he loses; or if anyone loses, it really doesn't matter since it's all fun and games in the first place. That's what I at least think anyways, don't quote me on this!

(it's odd I try to live up to this but I get too mad in laggy games and get pissed off when I lose, sorry).

Isai has lost rounds in both japanese and american smash 64.

In Japanese to Takamitsu, Simma (no not that one xD), and to some others at some of Tsukuru's tounreys
In American to Johnny and a bunch of others.

What kind of question is that? Of course he's never lost *sarcasm*

To be honest though, even the best players lose. And that's a fact. A person who beats someone isn't automatically better than the person they beat. And a person who is good isn't necessarily undefeatable.

He played Red Mario, Prince and Jousuke too, I wonder how he did against them.

Back to the topic, you sure become good learning from your mistakes so he should have lost hundreds, maybe thousands of matches

Isai has lost tons of times. He just plays WAY to much. Thats why he is good. Anybody can be just as good as him if they play it as much as he does. He played melee to for rediculous amounts of time too, which helped fighting others, helps with the mind games, etc..... It's like his whole life is smash bros. If anybody sat down and play as much as he did, remebered spacing, moves, combos, DI, timing, jumping, for every character, remembering stages, combos on each stage, wall DI, EVERYTHING, they would be just as good if not better. I don't consider Isai the best, or anybody. For somebody to be the best at something.... they would both have to compete at top level of there game. Like if somebody had played the game as much as JOEL did, and everything as much as him... and PWnD people.... and showed rediculous skillZ to... then they both could fight and the outcome would be a fair fight. Cause they would have Equal amount playing time, fighting, etc. Just like the Olympics, the top runners, swimmers, don't face off against high school students, or college level runners or swimmers and set back and be like, "yep, im the best." And have them say he is the best.... you can't base it off that. None of us have time to set around 24/7 and play smash bros. and get as good as him. Don't get me wrong, he is a very good player, but he has had his many losses and wins throughout his smash life.

for each frame of delay online, the match doesnt count...

so when he faced boom it was...probably 3 frames...those matches didnt count, 3 times :o
Well for me online matches really do count, if they are like 4 frames or less.. You can call it "fake smash" but come on, you are able to adapt to this "fake smash" and play as good as in the console

The match counts for online Smash, the match doesn't count for console Smash. Likewise, console Smash does not count if you're talking about online Smash [though since console is "real", people like to think it does].

Being good in console makes it more likely you'll do good online, yes, but it's not guaranteed. It only gives a "hint" of the real outcome for offline.

It's the same with Brawl, just BIGGER difference between online and offline since the online sucks.

But I do hate "I'd beat you if we weren't online" johns [though those happen more often in Brawl, when I used to play, than 64, but still].

me too, but when i do people say im johning >_>
imo johns is the stupidest saying ever made, if its a completely legit thing of course you're gonna say it. I just love turning it around on ppl in the same situation later and saying the same thing back. <3 the indignant ego smashing of ssb64.

Not the same as the console sure but what can we do, its hard nowadays to get people to play on the console at least from people like me who live in small towns.
