Action Replays for the Wii evidently exist (though I don't know anything about them), and I figure this would be high priority. Has anyone been looking at codes to eliminate the time limits? The full games are definitely there; I've confirmed this by intentionally getting game overs to return to the title screens and fooling around. Two player mode works on Super Mario Brothers, all characters are there in Super Mario Brothers 2, etc. It would be really cool to be able to play these on a console without having to actually get them; does anyone know the status on this?

I always thought that the games were only demos. I'm going to go try playing as toad in Mario 2 right now if you down mind.

*starts to close computer, starts to boot up Wii*

Edit: Stupid computer. Sorry for double post.

They probably didnt put the whole game into brawl and then put like a limit cling to it. They probably took the source code for the first like 2 mins of the game and didnt add the rest.

The whole game is definitely there, and if it isn't they hid it very carefully. In Zelda 1, I killed myself, went back to the title screen, named myself ZELDA, and made it as far as the third room of the first dungeon of the second quest! Do you really think they would have second quest stuff in Zelda 1 if it weren't the full game? Also, if you're curious, the name of the file you start on in Zelda 1 is "LINK". The fact that I was able to load Luigi as a character in both Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers 2 should also be a hint. In Donkey Kong, I was able to make it back to the title screen (the demo ended before I could start a new game, but it's definitely the NES version of Donkey Kong so no 50m) and able to make it to 100m. Editing games this carefully to make sure literally everything you can do in the time limit is there but nothing else would require a lot of work; just including the full game is the logical thing. It obviously runs on the Wii's internal emulators as well, given that it would accept input from the second controller for Luigi in Super Mario Bros.

What pretty much all the games did was copy the full game, add a timer, and have the game automatically load a "save state" when you boot it up. The fact that the OoT adult Link file starts off injured suggests this more than anything. The only case in which this does not seem to be true is the "ready to enter the Deku Tree" file in Ocarina of Time which seems like a hacked file, but just because they cheated in making a save doesn't mean the game is otherwise not there.

The only thing I'd worry about is that, even being able to hack out the time limit, will the game save your progress for you?

If someone who looked at the hacked Smash Disc could post, what did they find regarding these games? All I heard about were character movesets, music... but what about the masterpieces?

Didn't some one speed run and cheat to almost making it to adult link in the time limit? That strikes me as all being there but I could be wrong.

A hacking device was used on Sonic Gems Collection, so that the user was able to remove the time restraint and play the samples all the way through. That means, free Sonic games.

Now, I'm not sure that this has been done, but I'm sure that Meleemaster500, RupeeClock, or other members who have experiance with the USB Geeko have pondered such things. Interesting indeed...

Another question about the Masterpieces. Is Earthbound hidden on the US version of Brawl, or was it completely removed?

I doubt some of the bigger games like Ocarina is the full game. However, the NES games do not take up much memory at all (in fact they are smaller than some saved files) so I can see them having the full game.

See, thing thing is, if you're using Ocarina, you're already using Homebrew. Therefore, you could easily install any VC game you want.

I know I have.

I did not just say that out loud.

guys surely there has to be a way, i think they are full games also why take the work to make a new limited piece of the game when they can simply put it there an add a restriction? however and most probably the restriction was installed into your wii when you inserted brawl for the first time does anyone remember the "update" ?

There's probably techniques and ways to hack the games, which I believe isn't just a demo, but the whole file of the actual game... but man, if anybody finds out a way to allow myself to play F-Zero longer than 40 seconds, please let me know. I really miss that game... D:

When I finish the first level of Super Metroid in the first data the game stops (obviusly 3:00 in the trial version). And I finish the level very Faster, maybe in 2:00+ including the cinemas.
I think 00:40 seconds in F-Zero is stupid... **** seconds.

There's actually a code out now, but you need the newest Gecko OS homebrew app (no USB Gecko required) which has a fixed up version of Ocarina up. Here's the newest one: GeckoOs 1.07

And here's the code:

Disable Time Limit On VC Games (Only Works With Rebooter) by brkirch
2001A960 41820028

2001C74D 41820028

I haven't tried this code, so don't whine to me if it doesn't work or whatever. Also, feel hesitant to ask me any questions, please ^_^

You could always install the Homebrew channel, get the WAD files for the VC games you want, and then just install them onto your Wii with a WAD installer app, like what Anth0ny said.
