Steps from *shudder* Gamefaqs

1.Put Target pokemon in box with open slot
2.Deposit target pokemon from box to GTS,looking for a pokemon of level 100(or some combo that you know won't happen, level 10 or lower legendary for eample))
3.Counted 8 turns on the little loading clock at the "checking GTS status" message (between 7.5 and 8 rotations really)
4.Turned power off
5.Got a drink
6.Turned power on
7.Read the "currupt save" message
8.Went back on gts
9.Withdrew target pokemon
10.Check box
11.Scream "HOLY GUACAMOLE" at DS

Sigh, they always accidentally leave in some form of this in all the versions -__________- Can someone actually verify this? The last duplication glitch that came out of gamefaqs got crushed.

"In order to clone any Pokemon you need to have access to the GTS (Global Trading System). Enter the GTS and deposit the Pokemon you want to clone. Ask for any pokemon in return, it doesn't matter which. You'll see a grey screen and a clock with a spinning hand. Count the hand until it makes just about 8 revolutions. At 7.5 or 7.75 rotations, turn off your DS. Turn it back on and it will say your data has been corrupted, and will load from the last saved point. You will appear in front of the GTS desk. Enter the GTS again and you will see your Pokemon is still up for trade. Take it back and leave the GTS. Check your PC box and you will have 2 of the same Pokemon!"

:p I was thinking of posting this a couple of days ago actually...

The worst, from what I've heard, is that you could lose the poke you're trying to trade, which is why it's a good idea to try it with junk pokemon thil you can do it perfectly.

And Chill, stop abusing your mod powerz, my topic loses the mystery now. ;)

I'm planning on using the glitch to save TMs (like I did back in Gold/Silver). I'm gonna end up releasing alot of Bidoofs from my PC :p

I hope I don't see 6 Mew2 teams online or something >_>

Timing varies among some pokemon because I have to reset my game at 7.25 revolutions when cloning my celebi. So, I come to this solution, put in the pokemon you want to clone, watch the clock and the closest quarter of the revolution (before it goes to the trade screen) is your cutoff time.

Yeah, my internet connection is too sporatic for me to even attempt this glitch. I've seen the clock make six revolutions to ten. Anything I do will be a stab in the dark.

well in your case it might just be best to go with a regular number (ie. 7.25) every time, and if it doesn't work, take out your pokemon from the gts (if necessary), and try again. It might take a few tries, but that's what one person was doing over at smogon.

This here, after days of research (2) I've found out the easiest way to preform the cloneing glitch.

1. Be sure to have a good NWC (Nintendo Wi-Fi connection) before attempting this *I've done this when there's only one bar at the top right hand corner of the screen*.

2.Before going in be sure to have your pokemon in the PC in any box, just make sure to have your Party full and at least two spaces left in box 1 .

3.Go into the GTS and log on onto your WiFi and deposit you pokemon of choice.

4.Wait and count up to at least 7 Revolutions then count the rotations/revolutions after that .

5.Get the pokemon back you just deposited.

6. Repeat the last part of step 3.

7.Now cut off the game 1-2 Rotations earlier than it last stopped off.
NOTE* Timing is everything when doing step 7 if you have a DS Lite, move the switch up a little earlier and cut the game off.

8.Check your PC when you reload the game to see if your pokemon's there.

9. Now go back into the GTS and check.

10. You can know before the screen comes up for depositing your pokemon into the GTS because it takes slightly longer for it to load up.

11. If it doesn't work, repeat steps 1-9.

i doubt that there will be an easier way to get as many legendaries as you want, other than AR or a very generous person, but yeah im still having trouble with it even with the advice that celebi gave.

Yeah, it's hard to do, and the way I mentioned is easier than the first one but still very hard to do. The best way to confirm the amount of turns you need is to first put in the pokemon up for offer and try to get it in between 2-0.5 turns before the game goes to the trading screen. Nothing else to tell you but you need timing and luck to do this!

Do people know the actually duplicating way in R/B/Y or did me and my friend just make it up?

I never seen someone or somewhere where it said how to duplicate for R/B/Y. is the way to do it is:

when trading, turn the game off then on at a certain point?
Very VERY well known. There is also a similar trick with colosseum and the gba games. Since colo saves first, you can turn off the gba before the trade is complete, and the pokemon you send over to colo will be on both versions. Much like the dp cloning glitch, however, the timing varies.
