Hey guys, just a heads up that GPC will be hosting a Brawl tournament at the Lawrenceville GPC campus late in April or early in May-

You don't have to be a student to attend, because we've managed to get a sponsor to turn our crew into a club!
=D

Y-tea will be the tournament host, but I'm posting the information and assisiting with the technicalities of running the tournament.

GPC Lawrenceville Campus
1000 University Center Lane
Lawrenceville,GA 30043-7409

This event will be taking place in the A building- you can tell if you're in the right building if there's an information desk as soon as you enter.

Park in the dirt lot if possible, thats the safest way to make sure you don't have any problems with campus parking!
=)

5$ Door fee
10$ Singles entry
10$/person doubles entry

Prize payout-
1st - 60%
2nd- 30%
3rd- 10%

Losers Final= 3/5
Grand Finals=3/5, the player from the losers must win 2 sets of 3/5

3 Stock, 7 minute time limit for both singles and doubles

All items OFF (including Smash Balls)

Doubles Team Attack is ON, LIFE stealing is allowed.

BYOC: (BRING. YOUR. OWN. CONTROLLER.) NO WIIMOTES OR CLASSIC CONTROLLERS!!! Gamecube controllers only!!!

In the case of a Wii/TV malfunction, the game will be restarted from the beginning, no matter what time it crashed.

All decisions made by tournament officials are final.

Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner. Permanent ejection of a player from the tournament is at the staff's discretion.

Any sign of cheating will also result in forfeit of the game.

Any intentional forfeiting or conspiring to manipulate the brackets will result in ejection and possible suspension from future tournaments.

Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc), except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are banned. Tournament staff may randomly inspect any controller at their discretion. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to use that controller any longer.

The stage for Game 1 will be selected at random unless both players/teams can agree on one.

Double Blind Rule: For the first game of a series, a player may call for a double-blind pick. This means that all participating players must tell a judge the character they will use for that game. Each player is required to use that character in the game.

Random select stages: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Pokemon Stadium 1.

Stages banned for Singles & Doubles: Mushroomy Kingdom [Overworld/Underworld], Rumble Falls, Wario Ware, Distant Planet, New Pork City, Temple, Yoshi's Island (Pipes), Onett, Donkey Kong Arcade, Spear Pillar, Mario Bros., Flat Zone 2, The Summit, Big Blue, Norfair.

Stages not listed on the random select list that are not banned are open for counter picks by the losing player.

No stage may be used twice in a Best of 3 or Best of 5 Series unless agree upon by both players.

After characters have been selected for the first game, each player/team may choose one stage from the available tournament list that won’t be used during the series.

After each game of a series, the player who lost the previous game may choose the stage for the next game or elect for it to be chosen randomly. After the stage has been selected, the winner of the previous game may change characters. After the winner has chosen their character, the loser of the previous game may change characters

Maximum room capacity is 45 people, so if we exceed that number some people may have to chill out in the hall. ^_^

Also, if possible, anyone who could bring TVs/ Wiis - that would help greatly.
We'll have a projector screen to run finals on, as well as a few TVs/Wiis, but we don't want this tournament to take as long as Final Round! lol

If you have questions, comments, or are attending/ able to bring setups, please let me know via PM or post here.

THIS IS SPARTA!!!

I would like to argue the restriction on classic controllers. As of now, not many people use the classic controller since the veterans of SSBM uses game cube controllers. I don't even think that ppl will switch to classic controllers since they are so use to the feel of the old controllers. Now, the question is, why restrict them? There is always 1 Wiimote to every Wii with Brawl. You can restrict Wiimotes (sinc problems) all you want but don't restrict classic controllers since I will be the only one using it. Please? :chuckle:

hey guys this is Y~TEA i met pretty much all of you at final round.its great to have feedback

so soon. WILL about the classic controllers we can try to make an exception on that. but we

first need to find out if the classics are more responsive this way we give no one any extra

kind of edge. I will be running the event with full metal helping me out with some of the

technical aspects. I will have an exact date and time set by this saturday so i will be sure to l

et every one know ASAP. spread the word guys cause im tryin to make this tourny huge.

and guys its just gonna be brawl singles ( doubles as well if we have the time)

Let's just make this a Smash 64 tournament.

By the way, I originally wanted to use a Classic controller on my way to stardom. (My controller setting is that of an SNES beat-em-up~) It doesn't inconvenience me, so much as the concept bothers me.

Also, I'm going to this.

Y~Tea, about the classic controllers. I just like the feel of the controller since it's smaller than the game cube one. And since I got use to it, I don't really want to use the game cube. Responsiveness for any controller is the same so that shouldn't be a factor. Seems like not people like to switch but I am one of them since I like to try new things. If you can make an exception, that would be great since I will probably be the only one with it ^^ Thx

P.S: You haven't met me yet since I went to Final Round on Sat but couldn't make it on Sun.
