good Falco edge guarding techniques?

Hello all. I'm a pretty good Falco but my main weak point is in edge guarding (a pretty major weak point, I know). Can anyway give me some good tips, techniques, or combos that are really good for edgeguarding as Falco? Thanks in advance!

Well you can use your lasers, phantasm or use your Reflector on the edge, you can also use the edge attack and get into a laser lock, here is a video that can help How to Protect Your Bread and around 3:18 is where the edge guarding techniques are. Edge-guarding =/= Edge Gaming

Make sure you can do Falco's instant edge guard, where you stand on the edge, tap towards the edge and back again immediately. You'll fall and grab the edge VERY quickly.

Hold the edge, falling and quickly jumping into a Bair is an amazing edge guard as well.

Wait wait, so according to jp4u edge game is "edge guarding" while on the level. Ok ok >.>

So that means edge guarding is pretty much fighting off the level.
Fair/Bair when below, Bair when above. Don't Uair to edgeguard.

Well, aren't most edge techniques done in order to make it possible to get an edge-hog? It seems like it's all one big process, there's no need to separate the two...

It's faster if you run off and immediately quarter-circle the control stick from down to left/right (wherever the stage is lol).

But really, use the Q&A thread and watch the vids given above. before making a semi-useless thread.

Did you mean Fair? If not, that's a very situational attack.

Wall jump bair is actually pretty cool, since it allows you to stage spike the opponent. It is pretty situational, like you said. You can do it against another Falco or a Fox during their Up-B for example.

Yeah that would be easier, so some people wouldn't confuse hogging to guarding and whatnot.

^This. If you can hit them with the SHDL, they will generally be stunned enough for you to have a better chance of landing a spike.
