You're right on the first paragraph. I apologize for my hastiness. I was in a rush when I typed that.

As for your second one, you are being a bit too cynical. Why can't humans "convert" to logical thought? And who is to say what is logical? The basis of your argument is earthly, if you know what I meant.

Humans are not by definition logical in my opinion, and that's not totally a bad thing.

Christianity, or any other religion, isn't outright good or outright bad - it's a neutral tool which can be used to be either beneficial or detrimental to society. Unfortunately, most of history has resulted in it being misused.

The only problem with religion is that it can lead to people believing life is pointless (because they think that we only exist to do good and get into heaven), and plus you get denominations like the Catholic church going out and telling Africans that contraception is bad, when it would help them greatly with the AIDS pandemic and massive over-population.

That's not what MT said. I think it meant that it CAN be used for good or bad. Religion is a tool that has been manipulated by powerful people to get what they want, but it also has had its uses and good-doings.
