Yes, Joystiq has reported on a pre-E3 nintendo show, including Golden Sun 3.

Not too many details are known, but players will seemingly be controlling Felix in a direct continuation of the Game Boy Advance iterations, with touch screen controls not dissimilar to Zelda: Phantom Hourglass/Animal Crossing: Wild World/Pokemon Ranger. Psynergy attacks will also be controlled via the touch screen, and graphically it is said to have a pseudo-3D look that is close to the GBA games but with enhancements. It is also reported by MaxConsole that the story is of huge importance to the developers, leading them to write it and the script before other development began.
All I can say is:

OMFG

Actually, I'm glad the story is so important, I loved the golden sun storyline and it was always a bit of a cliffhanger with Alex and the bit of goldensun placed in Isaac. That being said, it's interesting that you would play as Felix.

Look for more on this. Maybe it'll be at TGS.

Thank you for finding this, ChRed.

I've been praying for another GS since oh, I dunno 2002? Whenever the last one came out.
Anybody who has a DS MUST GET THIS GAME THE DAY IT COMES OUT.

This is also good for chances of Isaac or Felix in Brawl.

Holy freaking crap!

Ok, now that I got that out of the way all I can say is that I'll be surprised if it is true. It seems the game didn't sell so well in Japan. If it is true however, I am dissapointed we will be using the same charaters again. I really wanted to see how their world ends up after re-releasing the powers of alchemy.

And we've already explored the whole world they live in already. I hope they can keep it interesting.

OH SNAP

I didn't know that existed, thought it was new artwork.

I have to say, though, if this is fake, it's REALLY well done.

The bottom screen isn't stretched, so the top screens original. Also, the circle surrounding the G is completely different from the circle in the Lost Age, so that's original. If this is fake, I applaud the aritist. also, the way he integrated into the DS screens would be AMAZING.

There are no signs of fakeness other than the unoriginal bottom screen artwork.

Even that doesn't necessarily point to fakeness. It's supposed to be very early in the works, maybe they just recycled the art for the brief demonstration.

In conclusion, I'm leaning towards this being real. Don't give up hope yet GAW.

BLASHPHEMY!

Dude, how could you not like GS? Great story, long, great gameplay, great graphics for the GBA. There were like no flaws in it.

Sweet! I love the Golden Sun series. Althrough I never beat the lost ages because the Doom dragon keeps on pwning my team. :(

It's one of the best games I've ever played for the GBA, great graphics, story, action etc.

Hope this is true. I will most certainly buy it if it's true! :)

My hawaiin half-brother Wikipedia points out that the DS is not strapped down to a gaming station or anything, in addition to the reused artwork. A third golden sun is (literally) "too good to be true."

But I'd rather it be real. I would camp for 10 days to play that. Or preorder it. But camping shows my dedication.

I played the first one. never beat it though and never played the second one because I jumped out of the GBA way before it died.

Meh, looks interesting. I'll check on some vids when they come out. Right now though I whould not say it's a pre-order for me.

I'm really mad that this is a fake.

I love the Golden Sun series. It would work really nice on the DS, I think.

I heard rumors, at least discussing with a friend of mine, that Camelot said at one point, that they wanna put Golden Sun onto a console, rather than another handheld.

Honestly, I'm cool with that. Especially with the Wii and it's potential control scheme. ^_^

That's pretty gutting that it's fake, but at the time i'm kinda relieved because it means i don't have to go out and get a DS just to play this. I'm still saving for a Wii!

Golden Sun Wii would be phenomenal, though!

Heh, likewise.

But I don't think they should make any more Golden Sun games. After all, the two existing games were like one game split into two parts, and the ending left one wanting more. It was a perfect story, and to continue it would cheapen the Golden Sun legacy.

Okay, I'm done babbling.

that's one of those things where it may be intentionally left as a cliffhanger just to let you imagine for yourself. It's sort of a differnt style of ending.

problem is, the GS games had amazing graphics, amazing gameplay, and great artwork, and such a good story that even if it wasn't quite as a amazing on the next go around it would be like taking a step from incredible to amazing. Amazing is still a game i'd play.

If Isaac or Felix appear in brawl then that should hint to there being more games. *fingers crossed*

And yeah, I am sorta relieved that I don't have to go out and buy a DS now. (cuz if this was real, I would have had to.)

"The most recent hoax occurred on July 11, 2007, where an early version of a DS game called "Golden Sun: The Solar Soothsayer" was reportedly shown off at a small pre-E3 gathering, with cell-phone images taken to prove it.[5] After this was decried as a hoax by official sources [6], the story and images were ultimately proven as part of a hoax by a confession from the creator, who said in a later interview that he made it to generate more discussion about the series and prompt Camelot into making a sequel." from Wiki.

i love whoever did this though. <3

i want a GS3 T_T
