Thanks for the constructive criticism everyone (no seriously). Something must be examined at all levels before final judgment comes across. We need criticism to grow and evaluate our ideas in a different light in mind of varying viewpoints.

Ok, the game has been out since March '08 (in the US), in the last game, melee, shine was arguably one of Falco's best attacks due to combo potential and no lag when JC'ed. So for quite a looooooong time we tried many many things to make the brawl shine useful, and eventually we exhausted all the ideas we could think up. Then you join the boards 10 months later and start theorizing over the shine stuff like we did back in early 2008 and we try to tell you that we already went over this and we offer reasons, and then you either ignore or avoid said reasons so we offer you ways to prove this is useful (my post page 2 gave you exact directions on how to prove if you were right) and you completely ignore them like they were there to hurt you.
Just because you are new and didn't see the months of thought that went into trying to make shine useful doesn't mean they didn't happen.
don't get me wrong, i love when people take initiative to go test something, but you should have the ability to decide whether something is ground breaking (Dthrow>Jab>LL perhaps) and when something is just meant for very rare occasions and isn't even necessarily new (this, people use shine and jump before, they just didn't name it).

Finally as far as using shine, and jump at the same time go, that's almost the only way i use shine (due to DI ability as opposed to standing on the ground), and I only use it on very rare occasions, as do others. If what you were trying to tell us is that shine can occasionally be used to do 6% damage without being hurt, yes thank you, we knew that and practiced it on rare occasions. Because it is so rarely used nobody bothers to name something as simple as jumping and using shine at the same time (the only reason thunderstorming is named is because ganon's use it often). If you actually read this whole post and don't ignore it then quote this one sentence in your next post.

I support all new attempts at integrating the shine effectively into Falco's game. I really do.

The problem is, whenever I read about a shine technique (e.g. this one), I am filled with hope and expectations. Unfortunately, all these hopes are crushed when the unavoidable fact is realized: There is no way (other than jumping in water or on a spring), to cancel Falco's shine. It puts him in such a bad position if he whiffs, and the only time I've ever seen shine be put to good use ( I prefer ledge hopped lasers or phantasm over shine) is camping on JJ from the center island onto the right platform.

My discovery Even if it isn't entirely practical.

But anyway, I dont see the use for IFHS. It's like double jumping, excepting limitting your options.
