Getting around the incredibly laggy landing on the barrel rockets

Is there a way to get around these? It's driving me nuts that whenever I use the barrel rockets to get back on stage, it's a simple matter for my opponent to knock me back off in the same direction. The landing has INCREDIBLE lag.

I try to, but it's often difficult to hit the ledge and not, say, above the ledge at some points (where you're still vulnerable to a hit).

sometimes its tricky tho if ur opponent knows or predicts ur going to the edge as my friend always grab the edge as im off stage so yea uh hopefully theres a cancel for this o-o

Anyways, yeah. Another problem. Your opponent grabs the ledge. You're SOL.

then go for the stage, he can't be in both places at once

If you shank your recovery just over the ledge so it's predominately horizontal as your landing on the stage you'll bounce a little distance away from them. It accosts for some of the post-lag and gives you some breathing room.

if your opponent grabs the ledge just charge the up b a little longer so his invicibility wears off.
theres really almost never any reason for diddy to up b onto the stage

Why would you ever land it on the stage anyway unless you mess up?
