Ya, I main snake but i have trouble two certain matchups. DDD and Falco. DDD chain grabs are godly against snake and can just shield your ftilt or nuetral jab then grab and waddle dee spam you out of hiding plus they stop your motar slide. The only possible way out of DDD's chain grab is to grenade or sidestep but thats only if they don't do it perfectly which is pretty easy. I only have trouble against Falco in the beginning of the match because of his chain grabs to spikes. So any tips on how to approach safely, effectively, and retreat safely to control the game in your favor?

AS far as Falco goes, the only real stragety is don't get caught, once falco gets you, either you hope the player doesn't move far enough or the press grab in time or you dodge the moment he spikes you, that way you slow down your fall and can jump back up.

as far as falco goes, he can only do it once per stock, so just recovering is you're only threat.

But D3, just hope that mess up, or set up some land mines, grenade, etc.

camp camp camp camp camp

and camp some more

especially against falco, it doesn't matter that he outcamps you or if you take collateral damage from explosives, if you can do any decent damage to him before you hit 40%, it's a better option than risking the CG IMO, although admittedly my experience against him his more limited than most others

Yeah i try to keep distance vs falco in the beginning of my stock and rack up damage on him so he has to attack instead of grab. But now i need that fat penguin....any tips?

I'll make it short, sweet, and to the point:

Drop nades on the ground. Control the stage. Predict where King Dedede will roll. Punish him. Think ahead.

against D3, put a mine in the middle of the stage

against falco, detonate c4/grenades on yourself at the beginning of the match until you hit about 40

Grenades! Grenades, grenades and more grenades. Keep them out as much as possible and they won't be able to chaingrab you.

It's a general thing, but alot of the Snakes that I play that get grabbed leave themselves open way too much. Granted, I use Sonic so I can screw up your aerial spacing, but if you don't finish your aerials and end up in landing lag, you're getting shieldgrabbed. If you make a grenade and you're holding it, I'll stall for some time so I can either throw you while you're holding the grenade and it explodes (either hit you or force an airdodge that I'll punish) or just throw you and throw the grenade after you.

Yeah, you can get out of chaingrabs if they're not paying attention, but keep in mind they have other throws too. :l
