in my "ask scar falcon questions" thread, someone asked me what the falcon matchup was like vs samus and i casually mentioned that i 3 stocked hugs in tourney, which is a fact, it happened, pound3 pools 1.

in that very same post i went on to say that hugs was WAY better than me at that point and that he went on to beat me in the set. the point i was making is that if i could do that to the best samus vs falcon, the matchup is heavily in falcon's favor. there were NO JOHNS.

kouryuu then decides that i am talking mad **** on hugs and informs him of this, presumably on AIM. hugs comes into my thread and flips out. i then tell hugs that i never said anything bad about him at all. then hugs say oh, well chill and don't say i'm flipping out. i say, well you kind of did flip out, but it's kouryuu's fault and if someone told me i was being talked **** on i would have done the same thing.

Most CFs he plays probably have a big problem with him jab canceling all the time but idk, he played like any other Samus IMO. M2K's Samus is infinitely harder and he makes it seem like the matchup may almost be even, but I still beat him, and god forbid I play Samus vs his CF, there is literally nothing she can do.

First you go on and say that his Samus is like any other Samus, nothing special. AND THEN you used "I choked" as a john against Hugo. That's enough reason for Hugo (and the rest of WC) to chew you out. A no talent twit (compared to Hugo, you are) thinks his opinion matters... dude, you shouldn't even use the words "choked" and "Hugo" in the same breath. That ****s an insult right there.

Next time when you see Hugo in person and he asks you to apologize, then you better get on your knees and apologize. That's right, you BETTER do what Hugo tells you to do. If he asks you to jump, you better respond, "how high?"

Also get your definitions straight, choking wasn't a john it's an admission of fault. I wasn't good enough to keep myself composed with a huge crowd behind me vs one of the best players in the country. The blame is squarely on me, not on the crowd or the room temperature or my controller or anything like that.

and lol @ you calling me a no talent anything. Where is DM Brandon so he can ask you who the **** you are.

and yeah, saying "I should have won the set if I hadn't choked" is a john. There's no way to tell who would have won the set if you hadn't choked, just take your loss like a man and try harder next time.

I swear, you beat Cactaur in a few friendlies, get lucky beating Jiano and get a close set with Hugo and you think you're the ****.

No, I said I lost because I choked which is equivalent to saying I lost b/c I'm not as good as him, not like I would have won if I wasn't sick or I would have won if I wasn't hungry. I clearly took it like a man since I admitted without anyone starting **** that he was better and etc etc.

West Coast Logic is as bad as West Coast DI.

btw I'll take sidebets against me vs hugs if you wanna put money on it.

lol And no I didn't get lucky vs Jiano he was mad rusty and I wish I could have played him at his prime so I could have learned a few things, and no I don't think anything of my wins vs Cactuar which I actually used in an argument against me being better than SS.

But I do think I'm the **** because I am one of the best players in one of the best smash regions in the world.

Maintaining composure in tourney is one of the skills a player has to learn to become good at the game. Yeah I said it b/c it was obvious, so that you wouldn't mistakenly call it a john.

I'm trying to make the distinction between an explanation and a john. I'll color code it so it'll be easier to follow.

Explaination of a loss: A statement of fact about one of the factors that contributed to a loss.

1) I lost because I am worse
2) I lost because I choked
3) I lost because I threw the set

Johning over a loss: Blaming a loss on something other than personal inadequacy.

1) I lost because this isn't my controller (i.e. if I had my controller I would have won)
2) I lost because I was in a bad mood (i.e. if I were in a good mood I would have won)

lol idk but according to ME i have plenty of experience choking in tourney so now i think i know how to handle myself

though i've never put more than 5 bucks up on a MM so this will be a whole new kind of pressure

actually that's not true, vs aarosmashguy r2 when he was up 2 stocks to 1 i kind of thought, wow if i lose this match i basically just wasted like 200 bucks to fly out here. i better win so i didnt waste 200 bucks.

then i got really nervous and only hit him about 3 more times haha.

yeah i agree i was just thinking that, i mean he said 20 and i just sort of said yeah and thought to myself that i would be perfectly content with taking like 1 or 2 dollars off of him, but if he wants to give me 19 or 18 more i guess i should be okay with that

but since his mouth is so big i reconsidered and thought that perhaps the money should be proportionately big.

I MMing you for 20$ but i'm also considering uping it... but it depends on how much money I have going into Genesis. For now, I'm gonna leave it at 20.

Well yeah I think that if I were a better player and could have maintained my composure, since I was up 4 stock 34% to his 3 stock 70% while he was offstage and I was edgeguarding, r2 after I had just 3 stocked him on FD... yeah I'll go out on a limb and say if I were a better player and didn't choke I was more than likely going to win.

But I was not good enough to do that and therefore I lost. No johns. I don't see what you aren't getting.
