Genesis 2 California Bus - Update 4/02/2011

Hey All,

I'm organizing a charter bus that is leaving from Southern California to Northern California and back again for Genesis.

The reason I'm positing information about it here is because last time I organized the bus, we had people from outside our region use it as a way to see all of California. For example, people would travel to SoCal, stay for a bit, then do a one-way to NorCal, or travel to NorCal, and use the bus as a oneway down to SoCal.

If you plan on doing any Summer vacations or touring or what-have-you, this may be an incredibly cheap and viable option for you. Thanks

I can't stress that enough.
Me, 3 other French players and about 10 Aussies took the bus last year, and it was amazing. Oats is doing an amazing work.

I'm sorry to ask but how does this charter bus work? I'm sorta confused as to the route and destination work.

This is how it worked last year:

The bus made 4 stops (San Diego, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara) and after those 4 stops, the bus went directly to the hotel which was about a mile away from the venue. This was the night before the first day of Genesis.

The day after the last day of Genesis, the bus made those same 4 stops again and dropped everyone.

Pretty simple, pick you up, drop you off.

Now, this time around because of time delays, there are going to be fewer stops or if there are going to be stops, they're going to be closer to the 5 or I'd have to get a pretty big demand from the regions away from the 5 to compensate the travel delays.

Last year we had movie showings (Dawn of the Dead, and A Clockwork Orange) and Cowboy Bebop, and other stuff on the way back. It was good times really.

I really need to do my research, but the Genesis DBR twitter said that the Bus would be cheaper than flying into a Diff airport and then taking transportation to the tourney from there.

is this true?

Anyway, we still have some ways to go until this bus is booked so let's get the word out! I'll be helping several people financially cause I really want this to happen! Also, prices go up on June 15th and tickets will be $120 a seat! Reserve sometime before then!
