GaW Doubles

Honestly I could NOT find this topic at all when I searched (I suck at searching anyhow)

Anyways, who do think would be the best character to team up with GaW

When I asked myself this, the first thing I thought of was the bucket. Should GaW's partner always be a character that can fill it up? I told myself "no it couldn't be THAT simple"

GaW's moves (for the most part) are pretty amazing at racking up the damage AND getting KOs when the opponent lets their guard down. Problem is that he is so freakin light.
(No, I haven't gotten the Bucket Brake down just yet) So I Though it should be someone heavier that has faster killing moves that wouldn't get in GaW's way.

So I have been trying out diff. guys to see who it could be.
Unfourtunaly the mains of my fellow smashers in my area mostly main the same four guys
Zelda, Link, Pikachu, and Kirby. (yeah not to many options, I know)

I haven't really found out EXACTLY yet who I like to team up with but I did figure that if D3 covers what GaW can't, why not right?

D3's primary killing moves (like b-air and u-tilt) come out fast, doen't require too much timing since they come out fast enough, and is a great character all his own. The bucket won't be filled TOO often by him (or ever really unless you stand still and wait for waddle beams) but that shouldn't really prove to much of a problem.

I dunno, what do you all think?

MK, another GW, and ZSS (dsmash fills bucket and it's 1HKO) make great partners for GW. Not only these 3 though.

ZSS is... Pretty gay.
Kirby can do the same thing as ZSS so... that too I guess.

but IMO
G&W and ZSS go together nicely
besides MK and G&W lol

ZSS is such an obvious combo but GaW would seem to be doing most of the work.
ZSS might work but seperated i don't think she could really hold her own

ugh, and what if the OTHER team had a GaW, just awful.

^ I guess you haven't seen Snakeee or any other good ZSS play. Also, ZSS can make sure the other GW isn't around when she starts to bucket. Definitely not "awful".

I would probably lean more towards possibly Zelda but that is only cuz the zelda main I play is dec with her.

or
DDD/GaW

MK/GaW has some problems with heavy opponents like DK/Snake or something like that.

MK/GaW: MK deals % and GaW kills
DDD/GaW: DDD is tank and GaW is ****

i think snake MK or double MK will in the end be better

once a team can get the C4 insta kills off perfectly its going to be stupid, of course against good people not just scrub tournaments

Pikas throws chain and are easy to GW Upsmash out of

jab traps, Someone should see if it works

Pika has that silly down smash and solid recovery

Really? I find Team Grab Up-smash is better in almost every situation.

MK isn't nearly as good on teams...cause in teams it's not possible to space away from multiple threats. Unless you edgecamp (which is probably getting banned). He doesn't live nearly as long as G&W and G&W is actually able to save his partner from KOs better than Metaknight.

i tried it once with the bucket though
killed my partner instead,

Personally~ I really enjoy teaming with a Dedede; As Tero stated.
Dedede is really a tank in that match-up, if he plays defensive, which, any Dedede really should. XD. While, and aggressive GaW, like myself, almost perfectly mixes with a Defensive Dedede.

Kind of think about this, too.

Game and Watch and Dedede counter what each other get countered by.
Snake and Marth against GaW? Dedede covers it.
Kirby, Oli, Falco, ICs, Pikachu against Dedede? GaW covers it.

Gdubz-Mk, gdubz-d3, gdubz-wario, gdubz gdubz.

These are all ownage teams. I haven't seen a successful snake+gdubs team, but I bet it could be ownage too.

I can't really see MK +GaW doing better than a team of D3 + GaW.

I have tried some random teams, two GaWs seem to work well if they're both really good at seperating and spacing. But then the bucket can't really be abused as much.

GaW + wario did seem to oddly work for a bit, but there are better teams out there I think
