I agree, 32 will take too long, for everyone to do their matches.
You can however do a "Waiting list" that way if someone is DQ (For reasons like: not showing up, being a douche) the other person can take their place.

hmm, your right on the part of that ill never get 32, but i already have 4 people extra and i dont want to tell them that they are out of the tourney because we are going back to 16 man tourney, i want to set a deadline if i dont get 32 people by friday, ill go back to 16
