This is how the gamestop tournament is being run by my house. They are complete bull****. I will explain the numerous bad faults of this tournament.

-1 minute time match
-Single Elimination
-All items on
-Tournament played in in-game tournament mode (Meaning the entire tournament will be played at 1 Television, every match)
-Players MUST use gamestop-provided controllers (wii-mote+nunchuck)
-You can't modify the controller settings
-Only the starting cast will be available. No secret characters or stages.

Absolutely awful, I can't believe they can actually hold a tournament and give out thousands of dollars completely based on luck. Thank you gamestop, i hate you.

I hate my job lol. I works at GameStop and my ruleset is being used so I am happy.

But after I win District, the Regional Rules will kill me.

Maybe if we all complain at the Regional They will change the rules.

Probably playing TF2.
Rulesets are too gay here

Gaystop hasn't ever held a tourney. so w.e

lets just hope MLG has tourneys better then this, with prize support just as good(yeah right ;>_>)

I wouldn't be surprised if Azen just won this whole thing.

He's so old school some gay rule set and nunchuks wont harm him LOL

At least then somebody good will have won. :D
Go Azen.

after reading that, this tournement does disappoint, and the other tournaments are way better than this crappy one

Eh, if we don't cry and complain about this one, and it appears as a huge success perhaps GameStop will hold another tournament. And if they do, odds are they'll pay more attention to the official rules being used by the community.

Note there are no official rules as of yet and the first round alone is being held after store hours but before the release of the game. Meaning they have two and a half hours to hold the entire tournament. Most of these rules are to be expected.

Also the biggest... Keep in mind how many people will be participating. At the very least we could try to introduce more people to the tournament scene through this tournament.

long time no see folks!

I will be going to the tourney. So far, at the most popular store in K-town... holding it at 10 instead of midnight, and only 42 have signed up so far. Since They don't know anything, it is crap. That, and you know, I just heard about this 2-3 days ago. No real planning if you look at it. I haven't seen regional rules, but I will be doing store jumping once this one is done (and if I don't win... :p) didn't say anything about that now.

It's very likely that there's a rule against 'store jumping', better check the rules. Anyway, the tournament at the Gamestop here only accepted 30 people and will start at 10 as well. A few more hours and that game is mine!

Eh, didn't matter. I won out and beat the 64 they allowed to play (well, bracketed I won 6 matches). The random character was bull, but it made it quite interesting. Other store started at 10 as well, so no dice there.
Didn't see any no store jumping rule though. Aparently a lot of rules were just made up on the spot.

Wow, you guys had random for characters? We were able to choose the character we wanted. At the end, there was 3 ppl including me so we decided what we wanted to do. We did original tournament rules but whoever won the most matches (which is 2) out of the 3 people(who made it out of won their bracket) would wins the tournament. Also, PB+J said that there is a $25 gift card in the prize. I had to ask them 3 times before I got everything straighten out about the gift card situation and what the winner was suppose to receive (I had to literally pull it out of them, he didn't say anything about the gift card) Apparently, they did not receive a gift card. So they wrote my name down w/ my # and if they dun get it, they will give me $25 gift card themselves. I don't know about other GameStop in other states but supposedly, the prize for winning is the trophy, the gift card ($25 in GA), the cardboard box of SSBB with official Nintendo pen, journal book and key chain.
