Either way, in smash the stages do matter and that's just based off of previous tourneys and Melee/Brawl matches. Time and time again people get screwed over cause of stages. That's why our Random Stages are only 4 at the moment (somewhere, I thought i saw a 5th random neutral).

To make another note, if we are comparing other fighters to Brawl then keep it at Brawl. Brawl no longer has the Yoshi's Story from Melee so there's no need for talk of that. If anything, compare the stage stuff to PKMN Stadium 1. It's a counter pick stage that tends to screw players over cause of the ledge that is only half there compared to the Melee version.

The only Meta Knight in San Antonio is Ethan, I think.

Then DMK from Austin.

Other than that, I don't recall any other significant MKs that would come to this. I doubt there's even 50% of the people in SA that even touch MK.

Ack! Well buggers mates, I'd been out of the loop in how well Meta Knight's been doing in tourneys I guess. Truth be told, I've been playing Meta Knight since Brawl's been out, and I've always thought he's a blast to play. I do plan on coming to the tournament this Saturday too, so it would be a shame if he were banned. Still, I'm looking forward to a good time and getting some good experience in, so I hope to sees you all there!

P.S. Ey also, if Meta Knight does get that whole 90% ban vote business that was mentioned earlier, can I get a refund for the entry fee? I don't know how these things tend to go down, but as I sees it, it ain't none fair to strip all me chances of winning after I've paid to enter the tourney.

MK won't randomly be banned from this tournament. If he was going to be banned they would let you know before you came. So don't worry.

Anywho, i'm still lost on the logic that has been come up with for smash. Yes i did play back in the day...which was whatever (CROUCH CANCELING FTW) but here's my logic (maybe it's because i'm old or something...)

(and yes, i was referring to brawl...not melee) it the NEUTRAL stage count is only 4....then why not use just those 4 stages? Hell Greyfox, you saw how simple i was when i played the other night. I'm no elite smash player, i didn't know if i was given a stage for an advatage...**** I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO GLIDE DANCE LOL.... My *** was very basic.....

also, there was talks between DugFinn and myslef about items...lol. And apparently theres an item ruleset for brawl. WTF????? So if MK is sooooooo broken. Why don't other regions play with this "item ruleset".

If what you say is true Kyle, about the smash community working so hard on perfecting the game (which would include stages, certain characters, etc) sounds to me that SA isn't working hard enough.

don't take me the wrong way, i'm not trying to say anyone's stupid or anything, it's just saying that i'm just not understanding your logic for things to be "fair" in this game.

They're not "neutral" stages, they're "starter" stages. The idea is that they're the most neutral stages, but none of them are perfectly neutral. Calling them neutral is a misnomer.

Also people are against items because they're random in nature and lots of people hate random stuff.

ISP or item standard play is a very very VERY niche part of smash events.

You're more likely to see crews or low tier than ISP.
