I personally already really like it when Blastoise pops out of the pokeball and yells his name, and I think having him as a character would lose that oomph. Also, we already have Squirtle.

Bowser Jr. would be a fine character, but... I guess I kind of feel the same about him as I do about Will Smith's son Jaden. It's just like "Yeah, Bowser, we know you have a kid that you think is talented because he's following your footsteps. Can you stop shoving him in our faces now please?"

What about... an alternate timeline where Bowser Jr. is all grown up? Or Baby Bowser?

Knuckle Joe. Kirby is pretty well represented by the three existing characters, but the series is popular enough where a fourth wouldn't necessarily be over the top. Also, I've never played Rhythm Heaven.

Spyro, for some reason I have a thing for characters that walk on all fours.

Along with that, Crash has a bunch of weird physical attacks, while Spyro can use 4 different elements. And can fly.
