Funny Moments With Eruption

So I like Eruption a lot as a move and I noticed something funny about Ike when he uses it at certain times.

When he's on the ground and he uses it, he looks just fine. But when he does it while airborne, he grimaces like he would if he got hit by an opponent's move. Weird huh? Cause Eruption only damages Ike himself when it's charged all the way up. So why would Ike grimace while he's not being damaged? Who knows. I just thought this was funny. XD
